Is something wrong with the hi temps out there for sale? I already bought 2 different brands and its still gooey tot he touch.

I got Fire Cote first, sprayed my valve cover , the thing didn;t even dry, felt like grease actually, I then stripped it back to metal, bought duplicolor, while its less tacky, I can still scratch it off. The back of thecan says that full curing will occur when its installed in the engine. Well, i've been driving around for 2 days and its still gooey.

this sucks

try going to a metal shop or factory where they powder coat parts and slip someone on the side a few dollars to powder coat your valve cover..i have a hook up here in town that works for a bed rail company and they powder coat parts for me free..:)

I just used to cheap hi-temp paint i got from pepboys along with some hi-temp clearcoat. Its been on there for about 4 months and seems to be good, no dulling or anything just gotta keep it clean.
