where to get a new 6 bolt cylinder head

both of my exhaust valves got burned out on my #3 cylinder and i have no compression on the cylinder. anyway, i figured getting a new or rebuilt head would be cheaper (and probably better) than having my mechanic dissasemble the whole thing just to replace 2 valves. does anyone know any websites that i could get a new or rebuilt cylinder head? any replies would be appreciated. thanks

It would not be cheaper to buy a new head. Replacing two valves is a pretty easy job, it shouldn't cost more than $200 including the new valves. As long as there is nothing wrong with the head itself, I'd do it that way.

is that doing it yourself or having a mechanic do it? wouldnt it be more than $200 with labor?

With labor, once the head is off. The valves are only about $16 a piece. It takes about 10 minutes to change one on a workbench with the proper tools. Call a machine shop in your area to verify the exact price.

if you do it yourself, standard size stainless steel replacement valves are $8 a piece @ RRE. a new headgasket kit if needed, the valves, and any other problems you might encounter with a DIY job, i would guess somewhere between $200-$300 DIY. a mechanics labor fee, i would have no clue... just don't call Mitsubishi, unless you're trying to figure out what the most amount of money you will ever spend on replacing 2 exhaust valves is.

You're saying 2-300 with gaskets and everything else needed for the job. We're only talking about prices for the head alone, not the whole job. Even if gets a brand new head, he'll still need a head gasket. I say $200 to replace the valves in the old head. This price has nothing to do with anything else. If you do it yourself, the price will only what it costs you for the valves.
