I have a 98gst, 14b ported and polished, ported o2 housing, ported exhaust manifold, apexi avcr at 16psi, apexi cat back 3" exhaust, blitz bov, injen intake and thats about it for direct speed mods.

Anyhow what should i get first: a 3" downpipe or complete upper and lower intercooler piping? i know ill need both first but which is more important.

What are you running for your fuel delivery? If you havent got a pump yet that is next on your list. After that the 3" down pipe then the intercooler piping. Just keep in mind your future goals as far as what turbo you plan on running and the inercooler set up you will be running. If you are happy with the side mount and only have a HP goal of 300 you will be fine with the stock side mount with the upgraded hard pipes and 1g BOV. The stock side mount is Ok up to a B16g but its only efficent up to about 18 psi then it heat soaks very quickly. ;)

i just wanna run 13's this year on the 14b. Next year ill worry about a turbo upgrade and a fmic. would a fuel pump rewire be enough for the time being for 16psi? i wont go above 16 without a pump, afc, and injectors.

If you haven't replaced the stock UICP where it necks down to get past the stock airbox then you really should do that. If that is already done, a 3" DP along with a 190lph fuel pump would be my next upgrades.

my list (fairly inexpensive)

255 (don't get a 190 only to have to get another pump if you plan on upgrading boost after this season)
AFPR (must go in with the 255. Also being able to UP the fuel pressure will allow you to get a little extra out of those stock injectors)
UICP (the exhaust is going to be restricted until you get a different cat no matter what you do to the rest of it)
then finish off the exhaust with the custom built cat look-a-like (a cat with a test pipe welded through it)

Notice: removal of your cat is for off road use only.

crankbender: Will he need a fuel pressure gauge as well or is that implied?

I'm asking for myself also of course...

sorry i am so slow to respond there are just too many threads to keep up with them all.

Yes unless you have another way to tell what your fuel pressure is you will likely want a fuel pressure gauge. ;)
