I have $5,000 to spend on my car. I have a stock 95 gst. I want my car to make over 400hp, and also be street driveable. What should I buy to reach my goal. If you list something that I should buy, list its price and what you think the price would be to install that item. thanks

I'll give it a shot. 50 trim turbo from Dejon w/internal gate, $950. A set of 660cc injectors, Dejon also, $300.
FMIC from Dejon w/GM mAF & Translator, approx. $1100.
3" turbo back mandrel exhaust from buschur racing, approx.$850. Ported EVO exhaust maniflod and EVO 02 housing from Buschur, approx. $700. Wideband a/f meter, PLXDEVICES, cost $325. Scanmaster from fullthrottle, $250. Palm logger, $150. That leaves $700. for an SAFC, EGT & boost gauges plus installation of the iems you can't intall yourself which should not be too much. Just a quick list and I just woke. More to come by more experienced tuners! Mark

dont get the turbo and injectors from dejon, too pricey. poke around for PTE's, thespeedfactor.com and a few other places have em at a much better price. And look on ebay for injectors (search mitsubishi injectors), delphi/pte's from 680's to 880's are 285$ shipped. And although buschur exhaust systems are quality, you can get a nicer 3" SS turboback system for much cheaper (kid i know is selling mandrel bent SS 3" 1g systems on ebay cheap, i have 1, quality peice). Also if you havent, dont forget to put in ARP headstuds, new headgasket, maybe do a timing belt job if you havent etc. Suspension makes a big difference too. Oh yea, and of coarse a act2600 clutch etc.

Installation costs will end up killing you. Gotta try to do as much as possible yourself.

Certainly shop around. I was gving items tat i know about and was sure other more experienced tuners would be able to offer other options. PEACE! Mark

NO. Don't even think about putting a 2600 on a GST. It is not fun. I put on a 2100 and it holds and is still hard, but i can live with it. Not to hijack but I am really interested in this GM MAF trans. How hard is it to tune and what can i tune with it?

Hi,

I also would say go with DSM link. It's about $200 for the 95 ECU and another $650 for DSm link. But it is worth every penny. You can go with what was stated above, scanmaster, S-AFC and pocket logger. But then you are still looking at about $700.
I got the apex'i GT 3" catback. It's nice, full stainless steel and it's a full 3", but the price tag was $750. If I had to do it again, I would have some local shop make me some 3.5" or 4" exhaust system.
Turbo and intercooler I would get for PTE. Check agpturbo.com they have nice turbo kits starting at $1600.
