i was trying to decide if i wanted to buy an alternator relocation kit for my car while i had the motor out (already have a/c, ps, ect. removed) so i was lookin on buschurs site to see how much they want for it...well they dont have it on their site anymore!

i know i could just call and ask them monday, but i figured someone else might know...do they still sell the kit? if so, do you know how much it costs?....thanx

What I would like to know is anybody got this kit to work with a 2G.

ahh kool thanx..they used to have it under engine componets...$180 seems a little steep to me for a bracket though, i think ill have to pass this time!...someone should buy this and take it to a fab shop and make knockoffs and sell them for a more reasonable price!

Stop being cheap.

You have to pay for nice parts. There is time/research into this stuff. Can't afford it, then don't buy it.

LOL who stuck something up your ass....90% of aftermarket parts are just knock offs of eachother.

if you feel that $180 for a metal bracket is a good deal then you can go at it man. if thats being "cheap" then cheap i am

i still dont understand why you have to say something stupid like that in my thread. i already stated that im not going to buy it because i think its too much, dont really know what the point of your little whining was for:rolleyes:

Ah yes, the free market system.

Yeah, they probably make a few bucks on those brackets. Kind of like Pfizer and Viagra I suspect.

A vendor can make something and charge what the market will tolerate. If it's too much, someone will start making clones and the price will come down. The vendor then goes on to invent something else.

It's the USofA, nobody's being cheap and nobody wants to stifle inovation.

will this work with a 6 bolt in a 2g?

Umm, seeing as no 2G's came 6-bolt, you have a 1G engine, leading me to the undeniable conclusion that yes, it will indeed fit your 1G engine.

Seeing as how you didn't know that people put 6 bolts in 2gs I wouldn't trust your guess that it fits. You could always return it if there wasn't enough clearance somewhere, or you could call Buschur maybe they would know.

if you can fit a/c in with a 6bolt 2g, and since the alternator gets relocated there around where the a/c would be, then it would lead me to believe it should work...

ide just call buschur, they should know.

What? How dumb are you? I said "No 2g's CAME with a 6-bolt" So, 2g's with 6-bolt engines, got them from..... yes, say it with me now, 1G'S. So, an alternator kit designed to fit a 1G engine, will fit in a 2G with a 1G (six bolt) engine. Of course people put six bolt motors into their 2G's, it's a much stronger engine, next time, read the post twice before you reply. As for the original request of confirmation, the best thing to do is indeed contact Buschur.

Wow OEM coil pack for 180 bucks. Got a mitsu part from the dealer for 70.00. LOL. If that dont tell u nuthin...

This WAS going to be my entire response to your question.

i just called bushur today about the kit for my first gen... the guy jarod was very rude on the phone and said that the bracket wont work even for the first gen because its made to be used with an electric water pump.. i then asked him why it wouldnt work with the regular system he said its designed that way.. the way i see it is it just needs a longer belt to work either way the crank still runs the water pump as long as the alternator belt is used on the ac side of the crank pulley.. in any case has anyone used this without an electric water pump?

It will work if you get a longer belt. Buschur fails to say that you need an electric water pump anywhere on their site. My Buschur alternator relocation kit is for sale, brand new, if anyone wants one. Thanks

You do not need a damn electric water pump to use the 1g alternator relocation kit. I know cuz I have a friend that put one on his 92 talon. All you need to do is move the alternator wires from their original location and reroute them behind the engine towards where the ac use to go.

Also the alternator relocation kit wont work on a 2g is cuz If you were to put it back there the frame of the vehicle is in the way. I also know this cuz a friend of mine bought it when it first came out. he put the 1g in the 97 talon. He tried to be smart and get a BFH and mash in the the frame, but after a couple of wacks he gave up and just dealt with the alternator to be up front.

Jerod has always been very professional and friendly. If you spoke to someone at Buschur's that was rude, you were talking to David.

In all my dealings, even email Dave has ALWAYS been rude... not much of an owner huh? that guy is deffinately not worried about selling to you twice... just as long as he gets you once.

David is actually a decent guy. I began as a customer about 12 years ago when the business was part-time and ran from his home. I remember calling once and he answered the phone with "If this is another ####ing tech question from someone who didn't buy parts from me I'm hanging up!"
I laughed and told him that I actually had my charge card in hand and wanted to make a purchase. We were both cracking up before it was done.
Dave has to deal with the same folks you see posting here and sorry to say, that demographic is comprised largely of retards. He also seems to be constantly getting his designs ripped off , copied and sold by others.
Yeah, he can be rude but there's a reason.
