No seriously, how does your car sound/feel on the highway? I'm very concerned about how my car sounds/feels at highway speeds. I have a 92 Eclipse GSX and I've never driven another 1G besides mine. I have no idea how it's suppose to sound/feel on the highway. Here's why I am concerned, trying to be as detailed as I can. My car is stock by the way. 99% of the parts I've replaced thus far have been with new stock parts. On the highway, I'm getting a LOT of road noise. The dealer told me that some of my road noise is coming from the size of my tires. I have Yokohama S306 215/65/R15. That was done by the previous owner of the car. What are the correct sizes tire/wheel the car comes with stock? I thought it was 16" wheels but I don't know the stock tire size. Another thing is I want to make sure I don't need new balljoints, so to determine that I want to know if you guys feel those metal/plastic lane bumps on the highway and if so, how noticeable are they? Thanks for sticking with me this far. Another point is the shifter in 5th gear. My shifter doesn't move 1/2" like it wants to pop out into neutral like vfaq describes, but between 75-80 MPH, it chatters unbelievably loud. I have to grab it and hold it in a certain position to get it to shut up, and it's only from 75-80 MPH. Thoughts on that one? Ok, how much should I be able to hear the stock exhaust and the engine at about 3500 RPMS on the highway? Anything you guys can throw your two cents into will be greatly appreciated and helpful to the DSM community. Thanks again.
