98 GSX at 74k miles slight rust damage. i do have the side panels as well as the heat shield, i just have them off at the moment. the only thing that the car needs is the hatch cargo cover thing, which i can get down the road.
How bad would you rate the rust on a scale of 1 to 10. how hard would it be for me and my brother who both have slight experience in the field to fix? hes good with cars in general and im a welder whos worked on classics since a kid. all the rust shown is the only rust on the car.
The only Things im aware of mod wise would be wires and all that for a sound system. A rear posi. stock turbo (T something) is at about 15-17Ibs. lowering springs. Obviously the tach and gauge pods. also the white face speedo cluster.
recently got bashed on by just a few guys because i posted something about how this kid offered me $1,800 from NY and i said he needed to get educated. for the most part it was just a friendly topic and a funny post to come across. anyways i was actually quite surprised on how many people really thought that my REAL GSX was worth anything under 2k. so im just curious what you fellow DSM guys think shes worth. i must admit there is rust damage. unfortunately i wasn't aware of that when i bought the car other than the slight bit on the tower, hatch, and hood.
everything that you see in the pics and that i listed are whats wrong or needed for the car. ive driven it on several occasions on trips that are 6-12 hours and she didn't give me a single issue. so people who bash on the reliability are wrong. if you take care of them they do last. other than that i believe thats everything so lmk what you guys thing its worth.
