Gotta pay to play!
I got the Red 90 Talon back on her street tires again until I can get the new motor finished. I was glad to get that done, it was way overdue. The Slicks are headed back to the shop on the tire dolly. :thumb:
She will need them again next year so "Stay Tuned" ;)

Got a New old stock 6 bolt timing cover in the mail today, along with an intake manifold and some odds and ends. Quick dry fit to confirm.

I'm ashamed to say what I paid for this piece 😭

Dont be ashamed... a used one costs plenty these days.. until someone figures out a 3d print or aluminum option we will be paying premiums!

I had a gently used one that i scuffed and clear coated to keep it from aging so much from spills and such

Haha thanks, that makes me feel better. I like how your motor is set up. Is that alternator moved to the backside?

As you should! Thats my favorite feeling is putting a kid excited about cars in the driver seat!

Good job!

The frustration is real 🤬😡🤬😡 was still having tps issues so I took it back off to test it and wiring. Found one of the wires came undone from when I put new connector on. Upon doing all this, putting back together and snapped the tps bolt.... tried to use extractor didn't work so now I'm waiting on a new tb... fml

If you had a welder you could extract it by spot welding a larger NUT onto the broken stud. A cheap mig welder would work.
If you are ready to get a new/used TB, it won't hurt anything.
If you need more details just ask.

I don't have a welder, just getting a new one and be done with it. Plus I'm pretty sure I f***ed ip the threads trying to extract it. Thanks though

Going to the SO last weekend motivated me to start wrenching on this car that's been basically collecting dust for a while. The clutch didn't hold up the last time I took it out and I just kinda let it sit after.

Yesterday I turned the trans motormount into a solid mount for Free.99. Just used some scrap metal and my time.

Today out came the trans. In went ACT flywheel, Southbend disc, ACT 3200 pressure plate. Next for tonight or tomorrow is the Jacks 2.2 trans with comp fork I've been hoarding. 3qts of Redline 75w140ns came in this morning, and my Feal 441+ coilovers came in this week. I got all the cool parts, just have to get out in the garage and turn the wrenches.

Might start a build journal for this car.

Just bought a 6-bolt timing cover from RTM Racing's going out of business sale - along with almost $1000 worth of other items.

So, yesterday I took off the throttle body due to breaking tps bolt, this morning I wake up to a puddle of coolant under my car from driver side it looks like. I didn't plug tb hoses after removing could that be the cause? It wasn't leaking before this. I'm almost to the point of buying a hoist and stand and ripping this motor out. :banghead:

Could be the small coolant lines peeing on your floor for sure

Pulled the engine and trans on this one this weekend.. In the process of moving some stuff around have to pull the engine on the other car and swap the trans around and install back in the Grey. Get it back on the road..

Pulled my FP and cleaned its sock to try and regain fuel pressure but that didn't help. The tank didn't feel funny but I did take a rag and wipe all of the metal i could reach. Next up is checking the fuel filter and cleaning it (it's a SS 10 micron so it could be the issue).
Funny thing. On my car, it's easier to R&R the fuel pump than getting to and opening up the filter. I think it took about 8 minutes to get my pump out. I am still stumped as to why I am dropping fuel pressure in my blue 92 auto car. It's been an ongoing battle.

Just went through this with the 350z and it was the filter element on that car.

It would drop several psi as rpms increased
