Apocolypse Now!, Fear & Loathing, Blues Brothers, DR. STRANGELOVE, Die-hard (1 &3), Lord of the Rings flicks, Fight-Club, Edward Scissorhands, Big Lebowski, 12 Monkeys, 5TH ELEMENT (under-rated EPIC), Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, The Birds, Rear Window (and a dozen+ other Hithcock flicks), CADDYSHACK, The Jerk, The Man with Two Brains, LA Story, Punch-Drunk Love (same movie as LA Story), Vacation, Animal House, History of the world & Blazing Saddles, Goonies, Princess Bride, Lost in Translation, The Life Aquatic, Ghost Busters, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH (and the quasi-sequel; Adaptation), Logan's Run still rocks, Chocolate, Chinatown, The 9th Gate, EASY RIDER!, American Beauty,... I'm leaving-out most of the war-flicks, as they've been covered, but they are some of the most amazing productions out there.

Also, call me what you want, but the Harry Potter flicks are about as engrossing as film can be. They are right up there with the Lord of the Rings in their ability to totally immerse you in an entire imaginary universe. I haven't seen Avitar, but I hear that it takes that to a new level. The Star Wars story is awsome, but the visual FX and acting suck compared to the LOTR and the HP movies. In the HP movies you can really tell that each one was directed by someone else; some are notably superior to others, right down to the performance the director was able to coax out of the actors.

AND (seriously, guys): EVIL DEAD/ ARMY of DARKNESS! What the hell? And all three "man with no name" films: Fist Full Of Dollars, A Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly! High Plains Drifter? HIGH... high PLAINS... plains DRIFTER... drifter...

What? No mention of James Bond or Capt. Jack Sparrow? What the Hell? Fast Times at Ridgemont High? Ferris Beuller? Beuller, Beuller? Really? 16 Candles? Breakfast Club? Wierd Science? "How about a greazy pork sandwhich, served-up in a dirty ashtray?"?

Am I that old? I remember a surreal film called "Dirty Mary/Crazy Larry"; also referred to by the B-Boyz! The end will make you puke! "The Unbearable Lightness of Being"? Anyone seen it?

Oh yeah, and District 9 was amazing. It made me almost cry.
edward sir scissor hands was good. avatar was good, but im crazy over where the wild things are because i can relate to it soo much. i used to be really wild its kinda of still in me.

Oh transformers 1 and 2, i like 1 better. it would have been even better if i was sam witwiki and got to love on Ms Fox

Damn Brownfinger listed some goods ones! Now I need to update my list.

Many people havent seen Snatch. Thats a great movie.

Sorry but the Resident Evil movies aren't anything special. I actually watched the 1954 version of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" last night. It may be old but it's actually a quality movie. Today it's all about getting a quick buzz from an action movie and then it's over. I can't stand to watch most movies more than once because of this.

the boondock saints 1 (all saints day was okay)
fight club
donnie darko
edward scissorhands
the nightmare before Christmas
interview with a vampire
queen of the damned
blade all 3
underworld all 3

Children of Men

Reservoir Dogs (awesome movie)
howls moving castle

I remember watching the original "Clash of The Titans" in 6th grade as a class project when it first came out. It was really cool back then, and still holds up other than the dated claymation.

mmm... how about Galaxy Quest? I personally think that is hilarious and a great movie. (And Sigourney looks incredible in it :D).

The Conan movies are kick ass literally. Another good movie if you haven't seen it is A.I. Artificial Intelligence .

The Godfather
Star Trek-Wrath of Khan
Alien & Aliens
Stardust
Logans Run
5th Element
Shogun the mini-series
Blues Brothers (best car chase EVER)
Blade Runner (original theatrical release is best but the others are OK as well)
Blazing Saddles
Monty Pythons The Holy Grail & The Life of Brian
Forrest Gump
Dune & Children of Dune the mini-series (NOT that abomination 1984 theatrical version)

There's more but it's getting late.

Uhhh... Godfather...

I forgot about Stripes. It was on Comedy Central today. Hilarious movie.

No Matrix fans here? I loved the first movie. I took shrooms the first time I watched it. It was good. The other 2 weren't as original, but I can't believe no one has piped-up about it? They are timeless.

+1 the Python

Oh Yeah... Kiss-Kiss, Bang-Bang; Tropic Thunder.

And this.
Also, Snatch was Awsome! Hell, Look at my Username.:hellyeah:
Another GREATmovie with little advertising, Anyone seen Green Street Hooligans? Elijia Wood(sp) is a Baddass in it. Yes, Froto is a Baddass in this one.:thumb: Story, Acting all A+.

Oooh right when I was hopin to see some Akira Kurosawa classics in there I see Yojimbo...seriously great stuff even in b&w, classic westerns were based off his work (like the magnificent 7) and visa versa.

His classic main character is calm surrounded by bad guys one minute and a second later he just goes apeshit an starts icin' every mofo on the screen with a katana it is SICK

^ I refuse to include Terminators 3 &4 in my list...friggin horrible The Governator tried in 3 and I applaud him but my children will never know of their existence. Same goes with the last 2 Alien Movies.

Alien Resurrection was bomb because it was the last true Aleins Movie- dark, sticky, suspensful an f*&$ed up and took place in close quarters on a dungy ship WITH RIPLEY as it should be.

I just watched this one tonight, I can't believe I did not think of it before.

Bye Bye Birdie.

I absolutely love Ann Margret in this film. The movie itself is kinda of ghey, as far as the story line goes. I really only like the to see the intro and ending.

  • 12 Angry Men
  • Fight Club
  • Reservoir Dogs
  • Pulp Fiction
  • Shawshank Redemption
  • The Girl Next Door
  • Hot Fuzz
  • Grosse Pointe Blank
  • Donnie Darko
  • Crash

  • The Usual Suspects
  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off
  • Stand By Me
  • Sin City
  • Primal Fear
  • Inception

and many more..

I need to see 12 angry men. Girl Next Door is pretty good for a movie that was never intended to be any good. Ms. Cuthbert is unreal. Hot Fuzz is stupid-perfect; Timeless. Star Trek 2009 was 1000% better than I expected, I really liked it. Sin City was so friggin' wierd. His own daughter tried to bang him? It's hard to watch.

Bad Liuetenent, anyone?

I've had a lot of Stand By Me references in my social life lately. It is a classic.

I wanna see Inception, but I think that's 50% just because Ellen Paige is in it.

Oh yeah; Fear and Loathing, one more time, if I already said it.

"We were just outside of Barstow, when the drugs began to take hold."
