newtown,
when you make your BOV vent to the atmosphere what are you clogging the entrance hole of the bov dumptube with:mad:

1) We DON'T vent to atmosphere, it's bad.

2) I've heard everything from 35mm film cans to freeze plugs to bathroom sink stoppers.

3) YOU DON'T WANT TO VENT TO ATMOSPHERE. YOUR MOTOR DOESN'T WANT YOU TO.

I taped a golfball to it once when i was bored and sitting around, it worked well, but as stated above, venting is bad.

why is venting bad?

because when the BOV relieves the intake system of excess pressure, that air has already been metered by the MAS,and if it dose'nt go back into the intake, the car gives fuel for a false amount of air and the car runs rich because of it,it can also cause idling problems.

use some money to clog it up..........that way it will be there when you need to do repairs soon!

DON'T VENT!!!

I used to vent in my DSM before the one i have now,ran crappy for months, and i got beat by slowwwww cars like neons and civic's:laugh:
-It sounds cool and all but don't clog up your dump tube!

I'll tell you a quick secret on how to vent and actually improve the performance in your car but don't tell anyone.........HKS VPC!!!!!!!

-Good luck in your quest for swoooosh

uh, yeah, i used ot have mine venting too, and letting of the gas when gunning it and getting backfired is the single most coolest thing in the world, especially when your tryin got represent a team or beat the shit out of domestics. heres a better idea, leave it the way it is, and then buy your self a gm translator, gm mas, and blowthrough setup then you can vent al you want with no problems.

Well Im sure that ALMOST everybody on here has vented their bov at least once just to hear what it would sound like.

My and just about everybody elses recommendation is not to vent, but if you must this is the best way to plug up the little hole in the tube

(if you have pop up lights only)

Just take the little rubber cap off one of the manual headlight adjustment knobs and use that...works great.

There is one on each side and they work great.
