weird ticking. help????!

alright so i have a 90 talon tsi and its been making a pretty loud ticking noise. i thought it was the lifters so i replaced them but ticking is still there. any ideas on what it could be??

haha nope. but would the crankshaft pully or timing belt tensioner make a tick?

I had a problem like this in one of my other cars and it was a knock sensor going out. I happpen to find this out a little to late and yeah well i spend the weekend cleaning my engine up off the ground.
