So I've been experiencing some idle problems, that's to be expected since my IAC is malfunctioning and I haven't gotten around to replacing/cleaning it yet.
However, while driving today, something really weird happened.
So I turn on my car like usual, but I notice as I'm reversing out of my spot that I actually stall coming out of reverse. Then as I start to move in 1st, I hit fuel cut and almost stall again. I noticed that my idle is unusually high- about 1300 rpm vs. the usual 700.
To make things more strange, my "brake" light and "battery" light are very dimly lit, yet seem to get brighter as my RPM's rise. I stop, and my idle is still high. I give the motor a little rev and the lights come on fully lit, and go away as the RPM's drop. I also noticed that the anti-lock light comes on with the first rev. I turn off the car- then turn it back on. It seemed like it didn't want to start.
Well, the problem stopped, but I want to know what it is so I can fix it so it won't happen again. Any ideas on what this may be?
Edit: A friend thinks my altenator may be overcharging the battery. My ScanGauge read the battery at 15.4 volts at idle. Bad?
