Calgary,
Hey guys, let's PLEASE have a definitive answer on whether or not windshield wiper fluid will bung anything up in our engines when using water injection?

Has anyone seen buildups in their intake tract/engine from using "smurf piss"?

I've got a new engine, and I'd rather not turn it blue.

Otherwise, the option is denatured/distilled water mix, I suppose.

Thanks.

I would imagine it would work. I've never read much or maybe nothing at all about it's use on turbo dsm's but I recently purchased a grandprix gtp and from what I've read of their message boards it's quite popular with them. The kits for gtp's i've seen inject the fluid(which is pretty much just methanol) in the intake tube before the throttle body. So I would say if you injected it after the i/c and turbo and before the t/b it would work just fine. It's kinkda like alky injection.
Hope this helps.

I have heard and read that smurf piss is not a consistant mixture of water and alcohol and that the water is not always distilled. I would go with a distilled water - methanol mixture of your own for consistancy sake.

Staytuned, I'm thinking that's the case.
What about lubrication for the pump?

Poisonwhiskey: the word Definitive usually implies that you KNOW. If you don't, please don't speculate and clutter up the topic. Thank you.

Well the system I am thinking of getting is the CoolingMist system that is found in our vendor section and I have not seen anything mentioned about pump lubrication. They say their pumps are water pumps and that they are alky safe too....so I am quite confident in that.

We have many, many customers that use windshield washer fluid. many have been doing so on a daily driven car for years now. One thing to consider if using windshield washer fluid is to make sure it says "all season" or something like "to -27 degrees". The next thing is to shake it. You should see no Bubbles or suds. Some brands put solvent to remove salt and or bug splatter.

In most cases its just water, blue die and some methanol and that is perfectly safe.

No maintenance is required on the pumps.

Thanks.

i have had my cooling mist system in for about 3 weeks now

i use distilled water, denatured alcohol
but would the filter that comes with the kit filter out impurities if i used bad smurf piss stuff

ive used washer fluid for 1 1/2 years now with no problems. But im wondering if straight distilled water would have better results?
