Hi, I got this transmission from a friend, anyone who knows where it came from (might be a galant non vr-4), and how much it might hold?
I also got transfer chase, driveshaft and rear differential from same car

My favorite JDM parts catalogs show part number MD973656 for 1.8L SOHC 4G93 Galants with AWD in the European market only, produced from December 1994 through May 1996. There are tons of threads on here that try to collect all of the various Mitsubishi transmission part numbers so I'll keep looking.

Everywhere searching by part number shows it as discontinued and I can't find it in Amayama or Megazip, both of which tend to provide a little more information than what I was able to find. They show W5M31-2-VVBF but not -VWBF.

Lots of resources for the W5M31 in general, but I haven't found any mentions for the -VWBF. The W5M31 is regarded as weaker than the W5M33 found in AWD Eclipses due to the smaller gears and being from an N/A application allegedly the viscous coupling is smaller, but it might be plenty capable when used with a smaller displacement engine or at low boost. What are you thinking that you'd put it into?

EDIT: https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/galant-gsx.397645/#post-152525989 Sounds like maybe @bastarddsm might have some input here?

Well I might put it in a 2g eclipse to make it awd, if it could handle up to 400hp that would be great (I see now that this might not happen with that transmission)
