alright heres the deal, i might think about selling my lude because im tired of FWD and all the problems people have with it..along with not having a turbo.

so what pops into my head first? i need a awd turbo car!

at first i wanted a wrx....til i got sense and figured out i couldnt afford one or its insurance

then i was thinking about a 1st gen DSM (i could get mad power and low 1/4 times with very little money.)

but im not a big fan of their body style/interior.....DSM still a possibility though i could always do a little work to make it look better

then my friend at evolution motorsports (german car performance company) told me about the volvo v70 wagon...total sleeper!

apparently they are awd, turbo, 5 cylinder (not a typo...FIVE.) with factory options such as heated seats and the works......

this of course wouuld be the ultimate sleeper (a nice front mount, slammed, tint, and some clean wheels the rest engine work)

but then i tried to look up aftermarket support for this beast and there is NON!

all i found was a ECU reprogram, exhaust, and some other random little stuff

my friend thinks it can make 300 hp with i/h/e/chip/some other small stuff like downpipe etc to free up the exhaust flow.

anyoen know any aftermarket support for this sort of volvo or volvo in general? ide love to get one and upgrade the turbo...(i can see it now, volvo wagon running 12s with a ski rack on top!)

That thing is a lead sled. I dont understand why people feel they need to always do something off the wall. Youll end up spending a good amount on the V70 cause they arent cheap, then paying high prices for mods as well. There is a reason why there is no aftermarket support for that car. Cause you would have to be stupid to try to mod it.

gdamn ive seen some flames for some stupid shit, but mine was a legit question easy killers.

i cant help it if 1st gens dont appeal to me, its mostly the interior im not fond of, and the fact that they are all beat up by now and has fading paint. cause trust me thats all i could find around here.

They have potential, but have fun finding one, especially a 5 speed. Tuning one will be a bi*** compared to a DSM, i saw a website once that told you how to get 300hp or something like that for $3000 but i cant seem to find it. You came to a DSM board and said you didnt like the 1g, should have expected to get flamed, but then again why dont you ask your friend at the shop for some advice on where to get information on how to tune it, that would seem like the best thing to do instead of coming here.

dont get me wrong, i like dsm's

(thats why theres another webpage open besides this one searching for a nice clean black 2nd gen...still havent come across it yet though)

my friends shop has an AWD dyno with a really good tuner that could do some tuning on it if i ever got it...but hes going to get one soon and peice together a bigger turbo kit for it.

randomly off topic:how hard would it be for me to find a high milaged awd turbo 2nd gen talon with good interior and body so in the future i could use the money i saved from buying a high milaged car in swapping a 6 bolt built motor? would it be hard to find?

You don't care for the looks of the 1G, but would consider a Volvo wagon instead?

Your problem isn't cars.

It's eyesight.

LOL, I'm sorry, this reply is just classic.

i say go for it. Saabs and volvos are quick turbo cars. Only downside will be the pricetag of parts if any available.

dude ur questions are way to broad....im assuming that u live in arizona....but here on dsmtuners theres people from all over the country and even some outside the country....if u wanna go n find out how hard it would to be to find a 2nd gen talon go to www.autotrader.com theres tons of those sites...unless u want one of us to go out to arizona ....count how many dsm's we find for sale and then let u know our results...this thread is rediculous....we are fans of dsm's not freakin volvos....if u wanna get a volvo good for u...n if u wanna talk about it u should go to dsmlife.com

dude, dont get all hissy fitty, im interested in dsm's aswell...i cant make up my mind at the moment but holy shit, the way this forum has been treating me for one damned post its making you guys look rediculous.

ive seen some posts right above mine about "doing awd burnouts in an auto" and "venting the BOV in the atmosphere to make it louder!" or "how come my car is falling apart cause im pushing 20 psi stock?" and you choose this thread to rag on? cmon fellas, im on the same ####ing side and have mad apreciation for DSM's...i thought MAYBE just maybe someone from arizona or maybe someone who has gotten a 2nd gen with a high milage motor and swapped it out for a 6 bolt could throw some input in but instead i get some jerk off yelling at me for some stupid shit.

#### it i just spent 2 hours in god damned phoenix traffic and its far from fun with stick. :barf:

Volvos can be fun cars. And there is a following out there. It's just not as easy to find as with the dsm crowd.

try www.turbobricks.com It's dedicated more toward the older 4 cyl rwd volvos (2xx, 7xx, 9xx) but they may be able to help some. www.brickboard.com also has a lot of good info. There are a few others out there if you look. I wish I could give you sites dedicated more towards what you're looking for, but I own a 740 turbo which is an entirely different volvo from what you want.

Also, www.ipdusa.com is a good place to find aftermarket volvo stuff.

And so you know, if you get the 5 cyl, remember to check the valve cover and head gaskets often. They're known to develop leaks near the back.

Volvos can be a lot of fun. People always discount them making them good sleepers. They're heavy as hell, but you'll be hard pressed to find something you feel safer in. Plus, you get luxury. In my 1991 740 Turbo I have pw/pdl, power sun roof, heated seats, leather, stereo system with tweeters, and much more.

If you decide to forego awd, you could jump in with the rwd 2.3l turbos out here and have some fun. Volvo left lots of room for more power in these engines, and they are pretty responsive to mods.

Anyway, don't let these guys here turn you off of whatever you decide to get. When you come to a dsm forum, you not only get dsm enthusiasts, but fanatics as well.

thanks for the reply, it was a reply i liked more than the previous. :thumb:

anyways, the luxery aspect along with the turbo, awd is what makes me want to research thema bit more, not to mention insurance would be cheaper than other awd turbo luxury cars such as audis.
