Saskatoon,
OK I know that the 6th digit of my VIN shows the level of trim that came with the car.... My 6th digit is a six....What does that mean? What came with the 6? and hey how many others have a 6 for their 6th digit? Is it rare?

in the chiltons book 6th digit is price class, a 6 means special, probly because turbo/awd.

I have a few friends with awd turbos and non of them have a 6.....most have a 4 and one has a 5... thats why Im wondering if its a rare number....and what exactly came with a 6 car that made it different?

im not sure then. the book says 6ht digit price class/ 3-medium 4-high 5-premium 6-special. they probly went by options then.

Nope I dont think its sunroof because i dont have one. thanks for the link defiant but it still doesnt answer what the 6 signifies...I mean what is "special" about a 6 class car? What does a 6 car have that makes it a 6?

Im assuming that you have all the standards,
power windows
power locks/keyless entry
power mirrors
rear def.
rear wiper
A/C
cruise control
6 speaker cd/tape amplified stereo
leather
T-tops/sunroof
I have everything you listed including ABS.

I have a 6 in the 6th spot, and I have a 90 Talon Turbo AWD with leather, power everything, CD/Tape, Cruise, no ABS.

Hope this helps...

Guys , please read all of the posts before you reply.....we have already confirmed that having all the options does not give you the 6. Im missing a few and others are missing a few.........What makes the 6 a "special "class vehicle? Do they fly? float? travel through time ? sorry,,,,,,,,,this is just driving me mad!!! I have a feeling it will bug me til the end of my days.......

Settle down gents. The "Special" designation is likely a special order as opposed to a set configuration. IE, someone went to the lot, liked a certain eclipse, but wanted it with leather...or wanted it with abs and a better stock sound system..or any of the hundreds of various options configurations available. The dealer then put in the order for that specific combination of options for their client. While this is only a theory, I can tell you that all my previous new vehicles had to be custom ordered because of the configurations I chose.
