Ok I recently dumped my 1g FWD project in favor of a 90 GSX that I was luck to find in such mint condition. The problem is that the week before I shipped it back from Germany the stock head gasket gave out. No big deal I'll just replace it, but while I had the whole thing ripped apart I was considering replacing the cams. Now this is where it kind of get complex, I want to build an all around performer, not just a strip beast. This is to include road course driving and drag racing, but most of all I want it to be reliable for the street. I was looking into running the forced performane sleeper big 16g with a supra sidemount, GM translator, the ported and polished head the car came with. Now my question is this which cams are good all around prformers? I want to primarly gain mid range to low end power but still get some good top end pull. And I would also like some in depth info on the cams, like duration in degrees, lift in mm, heel to toe angle, basicaly the kind of information that you find on the cam card when you purcahse them. Anyways thanks in advace and I apologize for such a long post.

If you want a good street strip cam I would recommend the hks 264's or the new FPcam1.

There is plenty of discussion on the cams but I am not going to dig it up and spoon feed you all the details.

Also AMS did a cam test with a big16g car and the HKS 264's made the best power curve.

So the 264's would be a good choice with a big 16g then. Thanks a lot I appreciate it.

ID also consider Crower's 412 cams or the 413 setup. Most shops are starting to stock these cams since ther alot easier to get than the HKS cams are and a better price usually. ($550-600 for HKS setup-$450-500 for crowers). I know of a few guys around here that swapped out HKS 272's for a set of Crower 414's and made more power.

The advertisement on the Crower's seems promising. Thanks for the heads up I'm going to have to look into those a little further.
