I paid 2,500 for my 95 gsx in 04, 99k miles on it. looked brand new and was completely stock except the sprint springs. thought i was getting a good deal. took it out test drove it, seemed like it ran fine. came back the next day paid for it signed the title, drove it out of the guys yard with a huge puff of smoke. so after b****ing up a storm he wouldnt budge saying i must have done something between his driveway and the street, a whole 20 feet. got it home and the turbo was leaking like a siv, found a new turbo for a few hundred bucks, replaced it at home. started the car and found out the motor was dead, the oil was full of metal shavings. paid another 2500 for a rebuilt one. started pulling my motor and figured we would take a look at the tranny. yea, go figure, not only was the clutch shot the gears were not looking to hot. turns out after the guy found someone to buy it he let his nephew take it out for a spin. and he let him tear it up. so if you buy from a private seller, just double check before you fork over the cash. 2500 quickly turned into almost 8k. and later that year the guys nephew even broke the windows out of the car. never even met the kid, cop was driving buy and actually caught him doing it. but i never saw any compensation. 300 for a front window, 1800 for the rear, spoiler was busted in half, mirrors were gone. anyways my point is a good deal can turn into 1 hell of a bad time.
i feel you man. pretty much the same thing happened to me. but i paid much much more for mine when i first bought it like 10,000 then the next day engine went. when i got it back two days later blew another engine.
. anyways my point is a good deal can turn into 1 hell of a bad time.
