so on my 97 awd :talon: i upgraded my shifter to a B&M short throw unit and love it. the only problem is now i can feel 2nd gear scratch when i down shift into it. unless im at a crawl i can feel it slightly grind. it doesnt do it when i shift from 1st to 2nd. i was thinking about changing to some pensoil synchroshift tranny fluid but wanted an opinion first. i have the short throw set at a 35%reduction. any ideas?? thanks.

I would re-adjust your shifter cables, If it didnt grind before you messed with it then you didnt get the cables adjusted right.

Well on my fidanza short shifter I had to remove 1 of the cables to put it on, so i dont see how you could of put a short shifter in if you didnt remove 1 of the cables.? Unless the b&m is different.

well that one cable that is pulled off, i didnt have to touch where it mounts to the body. i have it figured out though, i just changed my tranny fluid to some synchromesh.
