Im about to buy a Evo 3 Big 16G which has been ported by road race engineering and also has a upgraded internal wastegate 38mm flapper door. The guys also selling the 2G install kit which he bought from forced performance.com. I'm new to this turbo upgrade stuff so I need some help figuring out what I need to install this on my car.

The guy also has the evo mani and evo o2 housing which im planning on buying. Will I really need that or should I stick with my stock mani and o2 housing? Everything on my car is stock except for the BOV (Turbo XS Type H), ignition wires (MSD 8.5), downpipe (Pacesetter Monza 3"), and NGK spark plugs. Some of those parts dont even matter with the 16g installation but im mentioning em anyways.

So yea i need help figuring out what i need to have a complete setup.

You may as well get the evo3 o2 housing and mani. the o2 housing bolts up nice to the evoiii 16g.
Otherwise you have everything needed to install it.

oh ok. But what kind of boost controller and fmic should I get? Ive heard good things about the greddy 24r fmic and the profec b spec 2 but they are quite expensive :(.

Whats the difference between a manual boost controller and electronic? Like what are the advantages/disadvantages?

stick with ported 2G mani and 2G O2. The EVOIII O2 will not mate the DP you got right due to the difference in angle of the outlet.

EBC rules, boost control from inside the car plus faster spool up.

Should I atleast get the evo mani? or will i have problems connecting the stock o2 to the evo mani?

Isn't there a way to get around that problem with the DP not connecting? Will the Apexi DPs fit?

The O2 housing doesn't connect to the manifold-- the turbo does. The EVO 16G will bolt up just fine to the stock 2G exhaust manifold. The Evo O2 housing is probably a good idea, though, if it will connect to your downpipe-- I have a different setup so I don't know how that'll work.

Oh damn i was confused about that. S*** good thing I learned that now those pics make a lot more sense haha.

How would this be: Evo mani, ported 16g and ported stock 2g o2 housing with 3" Pacesetter Monza downpipe or Apexi GT Downpipe with Apexi N1 Catback Exhaust?

Assuming it all fits together (and I don't know), I would forego the Evo exhaust mani (ported stocker is fine) and get a better O2 housing.

I don't know anything about the Pacesetter stuff, but several friends of mine have the Apexi downpipe and catback and are very happy with it.

What is a o2 eliminator downpipe? Will it work with my 16g setup? And whats the difference between a o2 housing with atmospheric dump and recirculating dump? Whats better for what Im plannin on upgrading too. Mann its 1:30 in the morning and im f***ed up. whoaa.....

OMG I swear I didnt see it!

Yea ill see if Hahn Racecraft will port my 2g mani, and ill prolly get the o2 housing ported by them too.

Hey check this out. This guy had installation problems with it. Is it cos its not meant to fit on 2g or what? Ive never seen anyone with that fmic.

Instead of the evo o2 housing get the punishment tubular o2 housing, 150$ shipped, 125$ if you can get in on there groupbuy. It's atmosphere dumped too!

Whats the deal with the atmosphere dump? Is it just for the sound or is it better than having it recirculated?

My car is a 95 so the exhaust manifold is 9 years old so wouldnt i just be better off with buying a new mani instead of porting my stock one? cos whats the chance of my stock mani not being cracked internally? If i get a good deal on a evo mani should I get it and have it ported?

The 2nd gen ex. manifolds dont crack as easily as the 1st gens. I got a 2nd gen ex. manifold and ported and polished it myself. If your exhaust manifold isnt cracked you should try porting it yourself. It's a good learning experience and once you learn how to do it good you can port everything and save money instead of having someone else do it for you.

Rob.

I agree with both of you-- if your stock one is cracked (mine is a 98 and I just found out it's cracked) and can get a good deal on an Evo one, I say go for it. Otherwise, if your stocker is in good shape, just port it and be done.

What kind of o2 housing would you suggest if im planning on getting a evo mani and apexi dp with apexi n1 catback?

Also, ive already started looking into boost controllers and found some pretty good deals on the Greddy Profec B Spec 2. Most ppl ive seen either have the profec or the Apexi AVC-R. Which one is better, atleast for my setup?

boost controller - How much are you looking to spend? A manual boost controller would be the cheapest and still would work great. You can get one for as low as 45.00

Is your exhaust manifold cracked? I would just port that yourself if it isnt. It would save you alot of money and work just as good as an evo manifold. Same with your o2housing.

WB dump setup would be the best if you don't mind loud car.

I got Blitz EBC. It's just as good as others.
