Toronto,
I'm trying to understand how EGT temperature works, after doing a lot of research and reading this is what I've come up with, and please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to blow up my engine.
High EGT Temp. means the car is running lean, and Low EGT Temp. means the car is running rich, am I right???
I also read that for the car to propably tuned the EGT"s at the end of the 1/4 mile should read around 1600F, is this right??
So...If I'm doing the 1/4 mile, and by the time I get to the end my EGT is 1500F does that mean I'm running a little rich and I can turn up the boost a little???
If that's the case, then by the end of the 1/4 mile I'm going over 1600F, I should turn down the boost.
Thanx for the feed back.
