Turbo Making Bad Noise

Hey guys. Well the my stock 14b turbo on my 92 GSX is making an intermittent "rusty wheel" noise. It happens one in a while, only at rpms 2500+. Anyone know how to diagnose turbo noises? Any help or directional pointing will be appreciated, thanks.

well if it sounds liek a rust wheel and ur turbine in turbo starts going at 2500 i would disocnnect intake hose part to look at that turbine part and see if tis dirty who knows

Well, the turbo spools properly, at the right rpms and everything. It's just an intermittent noise it emits off and on. I might here once a day, couple times a day, or only once in like 5 days, but it won't go away. I haven't isolated eactly when it's happening, I'll run some more road tests on it so you have more info.

is there any shaft play? or any grime on the compressor side?..

are you sure the sound isn't your starter solenoid not fully disengaging?
