I've started this thread to get together some people to go to the track and have some fun running our cars and/or competing in events. This thread will be for track/race meets ONLY...NO parking lot meets.

We'll use this thread to post dates, info, talk about the event, post photos, builds and plans for the track, etc.

I'm doing this cause I'm not into parking lot meets...I wanna get a nice solid group together thats serious about racing and keeping the DSM breed alive and running.

We've got some serious guys already including Nate Crisman, Joe (yzfgsx), and of course myself (TurboJimbo)...real name's Dave.

I guess today was our first event. I met Joe (yzfgsx) today and we had a good time running our cars. Joe stated that he would like to some day have a group of us at the track, racing and having a BBQ...like a nice day at the track with our cars as a family...eating food, racing, and having fun and I couldn't agree with him more.

Everyone feel free to suggest some dates...

I will probably be there again this Sunday, i need to finish testing for my NHRA license. I will know for sure on Wednesday. Island is a great track to meet at, nice area and people, and very laid back compared to Atco.

I will also probably go again this Sunday

You definitly get your money's worth at Island

It doesn't look good for Sunday. Turns out that i bent a valve, good thing is there is no piston damage.

Sorry to hear that Joe. Hope you get back up and running soon. I'm still gonna probably go this Sunday so if anyone else is going, I'll see you there.

You guys ever go to atco or etown?

We can, we're open to any track...

My favorite track is Etown, but you also never get more than 3-4 runs in my experience if its a TestNTune. If its an event, you have to get there from the start to get your 2 practice runs in and then hope you win your elimanation passes to keep running...you lose round 1, you're done. But...I love racing in events and competing.

Atco is just way too far for me, about 2 hour drive. I would only really do Atco if there was more than just two of us...at least 3 or more cars (thats 3 or more DSMs, not 1 or 2 DSMs with 2-3 people in each) again this is about racing/running our cars, NOT a hangout...sorry

Island is overall the best bang for the buck and you get plenty of passes...last Sunday I made 7 passes with plenty of chances of doing at least another 3-5 passes.

We like going to Atco and E-town but I'm the only DSM and we're all about racing. We haven't been to Island yet because it's 2 hours away.

This Sunday, June 5th, I'm planning on going to Island to get some practice in before the event that will be held at Island the following Sunday, June 12th.

My cylinder head is still at Jackson Racing. It is probably not a big deal, just tough to get anything done during race season. If nothing else I'll try to make the June 12 at least to watch.

Today was a good day at Island...no personal best times, but a good practice day.

Next Sunday, June 12th, there will be an event at Island Dragway. From what I know there will be only 1 heads up class, 5 bracket classes, and test n' tune. It is $45 to compete and test n' tune is $35.

Gates open at 8:30AM

Hope to see some of you there

Event was canceled due to "rain"...LOL

Rescheduled for June 19th

Hope to see you there!

I thought it might be cancelled. Hopefully my car is ready by next week.

Just got back from the event and, WOW, what a great and fun day. I really wish some of you guys would come out cause it was an awesome day.

I competed in the Bracket 2 class (13 seconds & slower) and took 1st place in a class of 5 cars.

Also ran a new personal best of [email protected] with a 1.723 sixty foot

Your profile says you ran 13.3 on a t25 with no engine management? I call bullshit. No offense, please prove me wrong, I would be very impressed if this was indeed on a t25 with no tuning software.

Congratulations on the win and the time. I'm still waiting for my cylinder head, hopefully this week.

My profile says "HKS V-Pro" under "Engine Management". I take it you have NO idea what that is.

Congratulations on the win and the time. I'm still waiting for my cylinder head, hopefully this week.

Thanks Joe....I hope that head comes back soon for you.

Also I'd like to add that this weekend is Summer Slam at Englishtown raceway park. I'll be there again competing in the bracket class. Hope to see some of you there

Just got back from Summer Slam at Englishtown raceway park...man, what a long day. I missed my first practice run by minutes cause I was setting up my canopy and stuff. Then I wait about 2-2.5 hours for my second practice run. Next is round 1...(so I only got 1 practice run). About 1.5-2 hours after my practice run they call Bracket2 to the lanes for round 1 and we're there 1 hour or more just waiting in line. So finally, bracket2 starts, I pull up to the tree only to red light with a -0.041 reaction time. Thats it...I lost and am done for the day.HAHA...$50 to race, all that waiting, and only 2 passes HAHA...you have to laugh. I'm not complaining by all means cause I love this stuff, but I just wanted to throw it out there that when you have to wait and wait and wait...it really throws off your performance. Its messes with your head and you start to get impatient, plus the heat and sun don't help either.

All in all... I can't wait for the next one!

Oh yeah, there was actually a hand full of DSMs there too...I counted 3 2Gs (including myself) and 2 1Gs, maybe 3

Hey, thats me in the first photo!

Whats ups chinola69, I remember talking to you in the lanes...sorry we couldn't talk more, the line started moving and I had to go get my first practice run in

Hopefully next time we can get some people to actually come out

Yeah definitely let me know if anything my car should be ready for the next event. Its cool I understand when your lane is moving you have to go. Especially in englishtown cause with all those cars its hard to get a run in.

I plan on going to Island this Sunday...see you there
