I am in a bind, I cannot decide whether or not to go with the 4 spider or the welded center diff. I do not know exactly how much power I will be running but you can look at my profile and see whats up. My est. is around a very low 11 sec car when tuned and on race gas. My problem is that it will be driven about 6000 miles a year and raced on the weekend. So I don’t know what to do or go with because the amount of power that I will be running with almost call for a welded center diff, but I am worried about messing up the tire ware when turning sharp corners.

Please help,

Thanks

P.S. I know that this is the lest of my worries but it is still a concern of mine.

my buddy has had the welded and did not like it due to the turning problems you mentioned, he now is very happy with the spider diff. i think you will be too.

I am not sure but i remember reading some where that with the spider gears or one of the brand center diffs you car can not be dynoed on an AWD dyno. I don't know if it was the spider gears or a diffrent kind. but the spiders are better then welded center diff.

i think they can insert something allowing them to dyno but i am not for sure.

should i also put a scatter shield on their while its ripped out or can i wait and put it on later when i have more money?

If you are shooting for 11s, have the extra couple bucks for the scattershield, I'd throw it on. Easier to do while it is out and seeing as you are getting a rebuild, I don't see you replacing the tranny anytime soon where it would be easier to put the scattershield in later.

And the 4 spider diff can be put on a AWD dyno without a problem.
