Want to tow an AWD DSM? You have two -that's only TWO- choices: all four wheels at the same speed, or disconnect the rear driveshaft.
Why? Because unlike any other manufacturer's design -and we don't give a damn about how they do it- the DSM AWD is all four wheels driven equally, all the way until one changes speed from the other three. Then, the whole system, all four wheels, lock together solidly through viscous couplings. Not almost solid, or nearly solid, but SOLID. They aren't tender about it. They don't allow leeway. Instead of slipping, they'll destroy themselves by overheating and failing, permanently. Fifty feet is enough to do it. If your AWD DSM is towed with one end rolling and the other not, the tow company owes you a driveline repair. It will be very expensive.
