My front passenger axle is giving me trouble right now. It was seized in the hub so I had to order another knuckle from dsmgraveyard. And of course, nothing wants to go back on correctly. Looks like tonight is going to be a late night.
hey man if you ever want help hit me up im always down for working on cars
theres only two conditions. you car must be done same night. and you cant not use my tools. i am very stricked about that.
hit me up, im at work and i highly doubht anyone is getting there cars worked on in this snow. That my friend sounds like a big ass boost leak... check your intercooler pipes. oh and i posted a few pics of my motor with some of the stuff on it... check it out and let me know what you think
I finally got my car done. That was such a pain. However, even though I didn't touch anything on the turbo, everytime I go into boost now my car whines like it has a supercharger. You can still here the turbo spool up, which leads me to believe that it isn't a bad turbo. Plus, the turbo is almost brand new. It's weird.
Idk what turbo you have but I have heard 14b/16g's whine before they go bad.
I call it the death whine, have seen it time and time again.
Does it go away as you beat on it alittle? Ill put money on a big crack in the turbine housing by the wastegate flapper door. Typical sound, and its alittle bit of air weeping through the crack. Sometimes it will go away as the metal gets hotter and expands.
Start off by boostleak testing it..
Are you feeding from the head or OFH? Filtered?
If it dosent smoke, and has no unusual shaftplay its definatly a crack in the turbine housing by the flapper door, or a boost leak. Im leaning more toward changing the turbine housing.
I don't see why a FP 18g would have a cracked turbine housing
Thats a 14b thing of the past.
Anythings possible I guess tho...

I had a 7cm housing do it, I havent played with those housings for awhile, but yeah anything possible, including a blown o2 housing gasket
