What's the other car, a DSM? FP is blowing off my emails regarding warranty. I'm going to call them today. What exactly happened to your turbo?

new car is also a dsm, 94 awd. im not sure what im doing with either car, but what i do know is im not telling anyone nuttin about it... ha ha ha phil. all you need to know is its stock with a front mount. oh, and my car was runnin wierd, so i pulled in the shop and took off my intake tube to my turbo and noticed it was draining oil out of it. real freakin nice right? so one of these nights im gonna pull it off and send it in for warranty. i think im going to swap motors cause my car is in better shape, but then again maybe not. i dont know, maybe i will just register it and drive the bi*** all beat up and everything. im so white trash, i love it:thumb:

Pop the hood, I'll tell you what's in it ! :)

im gunna weld that bi*** shut... LOL this car is a secret... it has a bad idle surge right now, cant figure it out. i finally got it to stop surging, (dont ask me how) and then when i moved it it died when i pushed the clutch in... any ideas, im surching the forums right now. im leaning towards the iac motor. im gonna swap it tommorrow. any other suggestions?

Do a pull with me tonight :)

Then I'll take a random guess

If its a 7 bolt (94) dieng when clutch can be thrust wear/crankwalk.

In other news.. any toms river action tonight

Since you said you were having surge issues, I would start with cleaning your ISC and then checking to make sure its good with a multimeter. Also, even a minor boost leak could cause the car to die when the clutch pedal is depressed. If it has cams, the guy you bought it from may not have adjusted the idle properly.

the best part about all of this is that i now have 2 dsm's and neither one of them run correctly. i dont have shit to do today so im going to start tinkering

Um, would you expect anything different? ROFL

IMO, a DSM will never run 100%

But damn good enough always works! :)

This.

So I finally talked to FP and they are going to warranty my turbo. They told me to send it in. So I have a 14b to hold me over :notgood:

I just have to find the time now to rip out the 18g.

i started tinkering, and i cant get this damn idle to stop, the 92 on the other hand has a bad 02 sensor... best part about that is that i have to buy AEM's sensor. thats BS if you ask me, so now i have to wait till tuesday to get one...today is black 94 day....

That doesn't make sense. Are you sure they aren't feeding you BS? I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use any o2 sensor.

Anyway, did you clean the IAC on the 94 yet?

clean as a whistle, i drove it home today, now both of my cars have the same back plate... LOL. i think it may have to do with bad gas. it did sit for a year. and as far as the 02 goes, i believe them, cause there is certain cars you can only get 02 sensors from the dealership. so i am just gonna have to wait till Tuesday to get one. oh well.

I had the same problem, i checked my IAC with the multimeter it came up fine along with a boost leak test which came out fine aswell. I was clueless, then i changed out my BISS screw for a new one and i was as good as gold.

I don't think those wheels look bad. Polished aluminum isn't my thing, but I like the design.

And I know the feeling of having to wait for parts, LOL. I can't tell you how many times I was working on the car on a Sunday and needed a part.

Speaking of o2 sensors, did you check the sensor on the 94? It's a long shot but could also give you idle issues.

I live in Long Branch NJ, did alot of racing in tr in 2004-2005 in my red 1g. I sold that car in Dec 2005 and just got back into dsms last year. Joyfil what went wrong with your 18g, mine went bad also after about 2500-3000mi. I had some shaftplay so i pulled it out and the turbine wheel is chipped on the back side not the fins its weird. I was maxing it out anyway so i got a hx40 to play with now but it would be nice to get it rebuilt under warranty. Fp isnt answering my emails either
