You have a Forester right? Screw the intake, not worth it. Screw the ecu chip. Get yourself a Tatrix cable and head over to Precision Tuning.

Oh Fil beat me to it. You slut.

Get a VF39 or VF43, STI 550s and an STI top mount, then take it to Precision Tuning in Brick and get an open ECU tune!!!

what is that im just starting in the subis and i hear mad bad shit about percision tuning

I previously owned a 2004 WRX. Ask me anything about Subies. Boosted's brother also owns a WRX. I have been a loyal customer of PT since 2004. They have always been good to me and very reasonable. When it comes to Subaru's they know their crap. They have also done several DSM's including mine.

unlike our cars, subaru's can be flashed and tuned open source. It's a free program all you need is a tatrix cable that plugs into the OBDII port. PT has never blown up a car from bad tuning. They always tune to the customers liking: mild, conservative, or aggressive. I have a buddy with an 07 STi tuned by them with 470whp on a conservative tune. It's his daily driver and never had any problems. And if PT did blow something up they would stand by their service and fix it.

I have mixed feelings about Precision Tuning.

They tried telling me that my IC piping wouldn't hold past 18psi because it was SS and the beads weren't "tight".

28psi later and I had no problems...

They know their stuff for the most part but are also very stuck in their ways and not very open-minded to new/different ideas..

Not to mention they'll charge you an arm and a leg (Over $100 to shorten a IC pipe and weld on a SSQV flange, and it wasn't even perfect)

your kinda selling me on them now..
you sure you arnt geting comission for this? LOL just playin..
im going to have to talk to those guys

For basic stuff, and especially Subie stuff, I go to PT. For DSM engine work, I go to Dog Box Racing in Howell. They have horrible customer service (they suck at answering the phone) but they do really great work and also stand by their service.

Did Rich say that to you about the piping? I could see one of their old mechanics saying that, but the guys that work there now know their stuff, especially the owner, Rich. They do charge a lot, $90 an hour. But I would rather go to them and spend that much to get good, personal service than to go to my local Pep Boys and spend $75.

When I took my Talon there to get my Vibrant muffler welded on they didn't charge me for it. Why? Because they said it looked like shit and they weren't going to make me pay for something they thought didn't look right.

Yea it was Rich who told me that.

Wait time was a few hours, he had trouble finding somebody who wanted to weld it. And the person that finally did was new at welding, fresh out of school. And yes I still got charged.

Dogbox Racing is cool, I got a hold of them a few times. When I talked to Alex I felt they really knew what they were talking about, then I got ahold of someone else just a few days ago and the moron told me a SMIM won't net any gains, just shift my powerband and Crower Springs/Ti Retainers are no better then stock. That's when I hung up, and probably won't call back again, unless I choose tranny work and want to speak to Alex, and Alex only.
