hello all i have an older timing light that looks like its from the 80's it has a weird connector to the spark plug, it has a spring looking thing that goes to the spark plug on one side and the wire on another, now the spring doesnt seem long enough to reach down into the spark plug well, when setting base timing with my 1g cas on my 2g will i be able to connect this spring thing to the coil on one side, and then the spark plug wire on the other? I dont want to get a timing light just to set base timing so i am wondering if this will work! lemme know please

this one has + and - terminals to connect to the batter as well but to get the signal from the spark plug wire it doesnt clamp like newer styles but has a spring that is connected to the wire going to the light, one end of the spring goes to the spark plug and the other goes to the spark plug, its super old school LOL

Use current plug wire to connect to #1 coil output, connect timing lead to other end.
Then use an old one to to connect #1 plug to other gun lead.

Might have to cut old wire, or use old one on coil (not sure what type of connection is on the timing light.
