Kranj, Europe
Hi everyone, so if you checked my profile you'll know I have the engine opened and stuff and one of the things that came of in the dissasembly was the timing belt cover. There was only half of it to begin with and it's all cut and melted from the belt rubbing on it so I need a new one. Problem is I live in Europe and there is abolutely none anywhere near me. I checked extremePSI.com when googling for it and found they have basicaly all of the parts that ever existed but they want to charge $150 for the cover and then 225$ for shipping which is absolutely insane.

Does anyone know where I could get one for cheaper or if there's any chance the newer ones like the one from the 2G models (the black one that comes in 3 pieces) fits on a 1G engine? The newer ones are like $30 a piece which is so much more normal. If not I'll get one of the f***ed up 1G ones from e-bay but hey at least they are in one piece. Thanks!

Yeah, I've seen both beeing sold... is that just refering to the number of bolts holding the cover down or is it engine mounts/something else?
The number of bolts refers to how many bolts are on the flywheel. Not sure why the 1g 6 bolt cover is different than the 1g 7 bolt cover though. Here's a pic of both. The only difference I see is the lip on the lower right of the 6 bolt is different than the 7 bolt.

It’s talking about which version of 4g63 block you have. The amount of bolts holding the flywheel to the crank is either 6 or 7. Early 1Gs (90-92.5) had 6 bolts. There are other ways to tell externally if you need to make sure. If you have the factory engine in your 99, it’s a 7 bolt.
