This kind of thing is starting to get to me.

You know, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what looks good. Some people do things to their DSM that I would never do, but that’s fine, it’s just a difference of opinion.

The question is, where does one drawl the line between having a difference in taste and just plain embarrassing your DSM comrades? Where do you drawl that line, and when do you cross it?

To me, the eclipse and talon are things of beauty, works of art even. I myself think that the appearance of these cars don't need to be changed or messed with, just accented (Rims, paint, tint, so forth…)

I try so hard to hold onto my beliefs when I see things like this…

While I do respect his knowledge and ability to do all the modifications he has, I honestly cringe when I look upon this car. I admit, he has done many nice things to the car excluding all exterior appearance modifications.

I don’t know why this kind of thing gets to me so much, maybe it’s because he calls it a show car. Does it have to have a mAd tYtE BoDy kIT, truck sized rims, and negative camber to be a show car? Wouldn’t it be more of a challenge to find every single small thing you could possibly change while leaving the general appearance of the car the same? If I was judging a car show that, to me, would symbolize time and effort into tedious work.

I’m rambling now, I’m sorry I just needed to vent. To me this is destruction of art and it really gets to me.

But what do I know, I’m just a stupid 18 year old kid right? If you must flame, don’t, just agree and simply say “Yes”

Come now, that car begs to be stolen or broken into. While the back is the ugliest part of the car, the whole body just looks unattractive. The interior is nice, I'll give it that.

holy shit dude, this car was posted on here months back. i mean its been a loooooooooooong time ago. chill out. its a SHOW CAR. and its a pretty damn nice one too. he's far from embarrassing the dsm community. what's embarassing is people like u who hate on another dsm. u say we're a community, well then be apart of it and support ur own kind. its a show car, its a totally different branch of customization then some people tend to take. obviously that guy doesnt car about what he can run in a 1/4mi. its a work of art that that guy put his heart and soul into and he should get respect for that. u should be happy that theres those kinds of people out there. theres plenty of people out there that can run 10's-13's in the 1/4 mi, but how many can win shows with an eclipse? be happy its an eclipse winning the shows instead of some Honda Civic.

Isotta91, listen I’m not “hating” on him as you say I am.

If you read my post again, I said I DO respect him for his abilities to do the mods he has done, and the time and energy he has invested into them. I didn’t say he was an embarrassment to the DSM community, I said he is an embarrassment to myself and some others who own clean DSMs. All I mean by that is that I would never go showing this picture to people trying to impress them because I have the same car.

The interior of the car is nice. The work he has done in the hatch is great too. All I’m complaining about is the exterior of this car. It’s the stereotypical rice crap I run away from. It just upsets me that our car is being presented as “show quality” like that, again I am referring to the exterior. If the body kit, rear end, and wing make it “show car quality” what is it without it? A PoS? That’s all I’m getting at.

This car is amazing. To me this is show car quality. I haven’t seen the interior of his car, but if it’s anything like the exterior then this is what I call a show car. This is a car I would be proud to show people.

I said he’s an embarrassment to his DSM comrades, by that I did not imply this entire community, maybe I should have chose a better word. What I meant, was to my fellow DSM owners I know that pride themselves on having a clean car and staying rice free. Seeing a car like that presented as a show car is like step backwards for us.

If you can’t understand what I mean, I don’t know what else to say. I was never trying to change anyone's opinion, I was just venting mine. If I still embarrass you that’s alright with me, you’re entitled to your opinion, just like I am to mine.

Car shows dont look for moderate looks Horizon They look for wild and unique. Hes definately both, if he wouldnt have put the air ride on it and left the back bumper the way it was he woulda been all show and go if his motor is built like he said.

Any car can be a show car. Who cares what other people do to their cars. If someone calls you a rice boy because someone else who owns the same type of car as you did their car up as a show car then that just proves that the person calling you a riceboy is a true moron.

In all honesty WGAF what other people say to you about your car, or other cars like yours? Its not theres.
