Please someone tell me if this is legal...Came home yesterday after the usual long ass bus ride, long day at work hearing people b!tch about their internet service and long walk home when I take the usual walk around the front of my building to see my baby before I go in.But to my suprise I see this bright orange sticker on my back window ofcourse I rip it off.Basically my apartments says that I have untill the weekend to get valid stickers on my car or it will be towed along with my little brothers POS he just got towed there yesterday.Mind u,my car has sat since december 02' without movement and now they give me 3 days to fix it.I say BS,any advice?

push it somehwhere else for a bit?? I think its there property if I'm not mistaken, but a first warning of three days seems a little harsh to me.

As far as I know, they can do that to prevent non-residents from dumping cars there. Happens at my aunt's apt all the time.

Yea I understand that and all but my car is listed on the lease so thats why I call BS.....

they don't want the apt complex to turn into a car storage. had the same issue with my gsx when i lived in the last apt before the house. i've never seen a vehicle towed but there is always a first time for it.

actually they let you have it there for 5 months... Thats better then charging you..

Check your lease and vehicle agreement. I know that my lease has clauses in it that grant management the right to tow the vehicle off the property if the registration/inspection stickers are missing or invalid. My suggestion is to talk to your property manager and work out a deal. Then, rent a garage somewhere for a few bucks a month so this dosn't happen again, and your dead car isn't exposed to the elements.

It could be just me, but I don't think you're allowed to have an unregistered vehicle....it's illegal and you can get a ticket for it unless it's a "salvage" vehicle.

Is it rude of the apartment complex to give you 3 days notice....probably, they should have sent you a letter or something ahead of time, but thenm you should keep your car registered, otherwise they probably consider it abandoned.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have an unregistered car at an apartment complex. My registration ran out (long story) and I had to go to the RMV (DMV) in MA to get it reregistered and they told me that I couldn't keep it at my apartment complex unregistered, that they'd have to call and have it towed if I didn't get it registered that day.

why would you pay to register a vehicle that does not run and will not be on the streets?? I have always wondered this...and yet they have that littel clause on the back of you registration slip that you can sign to prevent you from paying the "late fee" if the vehicle was not in running order at the time of renewal. hmmm.

But yea I agree w/ BruiserNJ...it's their property and most complex's have that clause in your lease that says you can't have un-operable vehicles sitting there...but probably one of your neighbors said something about it to the landlord...seeing they've let you leave it there for as long as you have.

well if your car is on the lease , tell them to suck your dick , LOL , i would call BS to , and if they do tow it , give me a call , pm me for my phone number , i will volunteer to kick there ass with you , thats total ####ing BS! for real dude

KICK THERE ASS! i swear i will do it with you if you do it.
