I've seen Honda Civics towing trailers. Can be done even when unadvised. I'd never do it.

I wouldn't be afraid to tow a small watercraft or a tire trailer. Nothing bigger I don't think. I bought a hitch to install a bike rack and decided a 4runner would work better.

Personally I think a trailer hitch on a Mitsubishi is Sac-religious .. unless it`s a Mighty Max , Outlander , Eclipse Cross , Mirage . RVR ... Trailer hitches do not belong on a sports car period ...Ever see one on a Corvette , Porsche , BMW , I don`t think so... but that`s just me...

I would think an AWD turbo should be able to tow a little. But if you tried towing in an N/T you're already at maximum capacity just pushing the car

Truth be told - I ignored the owners manual, to a point.

It is possible to tow - this was a u-haul hitch on my M/T GSX. I knew I was taking the life of my clutch and center diff into my hands so to speak.

This is how I was able to run in a California/Nevada event called Open Track Challange, where we ran 7 tracks in 7 days, and the touring class was required to drive from track to track.

It takes a special kind of crazy to do this with a DSM.

I have since removed the hitch as it was a source of cognitive dissonance. ()

yeah, actually I have seen those tow. tires and tools. At least it was for a “good” reason.
