I've attempted to get the shop I work at to follow a procedure like that. We never wash after we clay and no IPA wipedowns. Just slap carnauba on it and it's done. :(

My car is getting painted black so we'll see :D

someone that knows what he is doing!

PC7424xp with LC pads also. I mostly use Pinnicle or Wolfgang but I do like the NXT wax on top

I went ahead an ordered a Porter Cable 7424XP today. Very excited about using it.

Here is what I do. Early spring- 3000 wet sand and then buffed out with a GOOD industrial variable speed buffer (not the Walmart special orbital buffer) using 3M perfect-it rubbing compound with the 3M white foam pad. After that, switch to the 3M soft black foam pad and buff with the 3M swirl mark remover. Once all of that is finished I use the Meguiare's Quick Detailer and a terry cloth to remove all of the buffing particulate and give it a nice final shine. Doing all of that gives you a REALLY great shine that will last all summer long. Just keep the Quick Detailer and good cloths with you whenver you need to detail and for after you wash your car! The only down side is that the 3M stuff is pricey.. but IMO is the best detailing products you can buy!

So this poses a question for me.
I am a bout to paint my car here soon.
I was wondering, what if it is a daily driver for about an average of 30-40 miles daily?
I use an Armor-All set that I got for Christmas by the way. (Wash, Tire and wheel cleaner, Tire Shine, Interior Wipes, Interioir Spray, and Glass Cleaner)
The Armor-All Glass Cleaner sucks though so I use Rain-X which works amazingly for windows and other clear plastics.

I use

Interior:
Meguiar’s interior detailer
Meguiar’s leather detailer
for tough stains in the carpet I use SpotShot carpet cleaner
Armorall glass wipes for glass and mirrors

Exterior:
Meguiar’s Gold Class wash
Mother's clay bar
Meguiar’s Gold Class wax
Mother's Mag and aluminum polish on polished part of rims
Eagle One wheel and tire cleaner

I pressure wash the entire car then dry it off with a real chamois. I dont use those fake crappy "obsorbers".
