The vacuum line off my bov keeps melting and making a hole for some reason. Any idea?

OK well as the title says, the vacuum line off my 1g bov to my intake manifold right be the end of the bov nipple keeps turning black and then ripping through. Does that actually get that hot when you drive? It does not happen anywhere but right on the beaded edge of the nipple. Might be an obvious answer to it but not sure. Would the underside of the hood get that hot and be enough to melt that one spot if it is touching there? The vacuum hose I am using is just a cheap silicone hose from a kit off ebay. Anyone ever have this happen? I am on my second line in like 2 weeks now. Gonna run out of vacuum line soon and don't really feel like buying more.

I am pretty sure that your hose is the problem.

That tubing from ebay should never be used. It is frail and I have seen it compress during vacuum.

Go to your local hardware or autoparts store and pick up some quality vacuum line and give that a shot.

or ya can even use some fuel line if ya want....thats what I use for vacuum line for my wastegate...its tough as hell and can take alot of heat.

Like everyone else is saying. Get some better hose. If the problem still exists after that than you will know that something else is the problem.

Yeah my vacuum lines do compress when in vacuum. What ill effects would that cause? You can bet I will be out to buy some new hoses regardless. Is there any place online that has quality vacuum lines? Don't get a whole lot of time to go to the store so ordering online would be easiest. Thanks for the quick replies, these vacuum lines do seem pretty damn crappy. When they warm up they seem to get much more flexible and soft.
