The grounding problem is at the FP. You should still check that fig 8 grounding location (for corrosion/rust/looseness/frayed/broken) since it's used for other things too, but if needed you can always add another wire from that black and white wire on E-36 to a good ground (to at least make sure the FP has a solid ground). Just splice into it so it then goes to both ground places.
