I lived in chandler for the longest time, even once ended up at the InO meet w/o realizing it. Im certain it was one of the 1g tsi's i saw there tempted me to get mine.

But for the love of all that are temperamental, finicky, bonkers cars we call DSM's is someone going to organize a West Valley meet?

eh, maybe ill come out and see you guys after a new head-gasket gets here

Has this meet been moved? Literally no one was there yesterday when I came out. I don't have an AZAWD account and their forums are hidden without one so I haven't bothered to look for news about this meet there.

Copied from AZAWD

As many of you know, the Pecos East Valley Meet has been slowly dying down to where it is just a handful of us. So a bunch of the regulars thought it'd be a good idea to move it to an area where it would generate more excitement, in addition to being more centralized which would be more advantageous to those who are travelling from the North and West valley. Based on a censuses the best spot would be the Tempe Town Lake. There are many restaurants and cruising spots in a relatively close vicinity and would hopefully allow the East and West valley AZawders to have more meets together. The first meet will take place next Friday on June 7th at 8pm. and will hopefully grow from there.

Lastly, everyone is free to invite whomever they want, this is not exclusive to AZAWD but if you're thinking about inviting a friend who you know is a complete dildo and will do burnouts and donuts and just be a general moron, then its better not to. Eventually the meet will die because no one wants the attention of police.

Excellent, thanks for the update Dave. I haven't driven my GSX down a road since February so haven't kept up much with the meet status.

I'll update the front page...

I may be there if I can get Level7 or a few of the other old INO Chandler gang to show up too.

My girlfriend and I are almost certain to be going to the Pavilions show in Scottsdale on Saturday night. After sunset it's nice up there this time of year.

I'll be rollin' in my sporty sedan (but it's not AWD). :D

No one from here showed up except Nate. ROFL

Pretty sad day from the dsm side considering so many people said they were going. Nice spot to have them now though, I'll be bringing the GVR4 and probably the spyder to the one on the 21st.

Dave, you wouldn't happen to have Dave T's number would you? He said he has 2 1g's he wants to get rid of, but I forgot to get his number.

I would go to a lot more Dsm meets if they were more centrally located. I live in surprise, and a 70 mile round trip isn't really even crossing my mind.

Yea, I know! Where was everyone? Lol.Hopefully there will be more DSM's there next time.

Sorry, I had to. Everyone complains about not going because of location. Basically you are only arguing over a few blocks for a "central location."

Edit: Oh, and before anyone starts saying San Tan Valley is just farms blah blah and Surprise is an actual city. I have lived in both and they are both pretty much the same size pop wise:

119,489 (2011)
Surprise, Population

81,321 (Apr 1, 2010)
San Tan Valley, Arizona, Population

Centrally located is central and Washington.

Also, Tempe isnt central anything. It's been regarded as east valley forever. Centrally located has always referred to the central corridor in Phoenix.

I know bro LOL. Central location has always been considered downtown area I was just thinking about it and with how much the valley is spreading southeast it really isn't "central" anymore. That map doesn't do it justice because it all looks like farms when really it is quite a lot of suburbia now.

The meet is pretty "central" geographically though which was what I was pointing out. It was kinda a joke that turned serious when I realized how "central" it really was haha.

I attended the Tempe Town Lake meet last Friday night. I'm not a fan of the location but the people were nice.

Bad lighting, bad traffic getting in and out of the park, no place to get a drink or a bite to eat, no restrooms, etc. No plans to go back there for me.

I am going to the traditional DSM meet tomorrow night (second Thursday) at the In-N-Out in Chandler at Ray Rd and I-10.

Last time I went out to the old DSM meet after I finished the motor build, it was a ghost town! I don't mind the location, but you are right, it would be nice to have a bathroom/food/beverage place close. I can see the lack of hindering how long people stay.

Nate

There's been some discussion of moving this meet to Saturday night, which I like since I don't have to work early on Sunday, and only staying for an hour before we all pack up and go hard park at the Pavs.

Once again, I'll keep an eye out on updates to see what the crowd's doing so I can give everyone the latest and greatest. If all else fails, which these meets have been, I'll turn this thread into the new In N' Out meet since that one expired on the New Year.

So do they mean that they will all meet and then drive to the Pavs together? That would be kinda cool. Let me know so I can update the DSMArizona page with the correct time if they do change it to that.

So think we are going to do the meet at Tempe town lake and drive to pavs every Saturday! We did it tonight and it was fun but we really need more people to show up and we need to do it earlier so we can be at pavs at 7 so we can all park together. Driving there together was cool even if it was only three of us more will be marryer.

^ agreed lets have it changed to Saturday then drive to the pav early. With it being more organized we might actually get more people to show.

Good to hear this actually happened, once I get my car back on the road maybe I'll leave work an hour or two early some Saturday and make the early trip up to the Pavs with everyone. Sucks my normal work schedule I work Saturday's until 6:30pm...

I'll update the event to reflect the change (again). LOL

MrCup, did you guys meet at Republic Ramen then or Tempe Town Lake? There was talk of meeting at RR, just wondering if that happened and maybe that's why there were only 3 cars at Tempe Town.

We meet at the Tempe town lake and then went. There was three other DSMs at pavs we all talked but we were all over the place. We just need to get there early so we can park next to each other. I think if we make it there around 7 we could be able to do that.:thumb:

i cant wait to be able to make a meet. My car is together, fluids in, gased up. but not starting at all. As soon as i figure out what the hell is its problem ill be out there. If me and my little old avenger are welcome.LOL
