What was the fix?
Two things alternator and transistor. Alternator was only putting out 10.9 volts at the event.

Well here's an update. Didn't make it to the track friday. I turned the boost up to 39 psi and what's happening is the clutch is not holding the power it was pointless to go to the track and not be able to run full potential. As tim stated its now time to get the twin disc. The car holds power up to 32psi. My objective at this point is to get the twin disc in , get the car painted before the 1/2 mile ocala fl. stay tune!

Screen shot of log and speed density table. At 39 psi I am almost at the bottom of the table. 44psi puts me at the bottom. The engine dynoed 760@39psi in the fwd. Looking like it's on par.

32psi on your build is a lot of hp and still pretty darn good for this clutch. But yes if not before for sure now at your hp/tq level you will have to go the route you are saying. Can't wait to see your next step:thumb::dsm:

Well after reading on the twin disc my best option for my street car is the clutch that's in it already I just don't need to turn the boost up. I just need to accept what the car makes at 32 psi and call it a day. Finding out almost 2000.00 for a clutch that will last maybe two to three oil changes is certainly not for my daily driver.

Check out Tom's turbo garage he went with a twin disc when he started making to much power that his act 2600 could not handle anymore but after installing the twin disc his next week link was his driveshaft which snapped a u joint on his first launch . He had a 91 eagle talon with a 6266 turbo set up real cool guy and fun to watch. After that he sold the car.

Yeah its a compromise. Sometime we have to accept limitation to stay enthusiastic about modding these cars. I have no problem accepting my limitation and the purpose of the car. My next move is to get dynode @ 32 psi to see where she sits. My guess is high 600 borderline 700whp just have to see!

Okay been tied up on several other projects now its time to turn my attention back to the eclipse for the may 1/2 mile event. I have been struggling with what appears to be clutch slipping issues. After replacing the clutch and welding the center differential the slipping is still an issue. This was even with the car on low boost setting conclusion it had to be something else besides the clutch, every component that has anything to do with traction to the wheel was inspected. Transfer case, welded diff, clutch , flywheel, rear diff and the culprit turned out to be the stock front viscous lsd differential from the evo 1 gsr that I have been running in the car. 600 plus ft lbs of torque has overwhelmed the fluid inside the diff. So I purchased a quaife, I also switched back to an act 3200bls with act 6 puck disc. Also upgraded the front axles and transfer case, yoke and one piece driveshaft, also upgraded the rear cover of the rear diff will see what she does. If shep ran a 3200lbs before the twin era and it worked for him then why not me!

I went a little over bore using the 3200 clutch with 500awhp goal, but I like it. What 1 piece driveshaft are you using, custom made? I thought with a 1 piece the u joint angles are off a few degrees causing issues? Did you go with the FL fabrication rear diff cover? I'm using it and I like it too! What's new with the tcase, total rebuild? Can't wait too see your results for this coming 1/2 mile, best of luck! I love it when any 4 cylinder beats and 8 cylinder:hellyeah:
