Alright guys my car running e85 since there is a station nearby my house.... Two days ago, i was in the middle of no where looking for e85 station and i couldnt find one. So there is no other choice to fillup with chevron 91. Lucky i brought by laptop to tune the car back to pump. So, i load and save the to the link for pump 91 setting. The car start rough and i just kept going because i think it is because the e85 left in the lines. So, i was able to connect the ecu and play around with link little bit. The car runs really hot, oil temp reach 225f but water temp seems normal. Also, radiator fan runs all time, even with the engine in cold tempperature. And i cant connect to link anymore.
Here is what i did so far

Remove battery to reset link to default
Check fuel pressure, it seems normal.
Reset maf-t to default 450cc injector setting
I dont know if it is the isc or not, and i have not check it yet.
I cant connect to link anymore, bought new db9 cable and still cant connect....

I really dont know what else to do....
Please, any input i will appreciate...
Thanks....

Are you using a serial port or USB port to connect to link?

Sometimes on serial ports, they'll get automatically asigned to the laptops infrared comm thingy (not really the serial port but what's called "COM1" and this has to be free to use the rs-232 serial port (on older stand alones before any of them were USB and all of em used the 9 pin rs-232 this was a fairly common issue on the laptop side of things

Now the other thing i've seen happen a lot with this same form of communication is a small static shock from your body when you touch the cable to hook it to thye laptop will fry the ECU's "COMMS CHIP" or it's internal RS-232 chip and need replaced. I've had this happen personally to me on my last haltech, I just saw the smallest static shock whenm i picked up the cable to plug in.. Then i couldn't connect no matter what, the car ran peerfect but the communication was dead. I had to send it in to get the sipex MAX233 chip replaced. But i used it as an excuse at the same time to order myself a haltech unit that had dual mapping capability just for the purpose of being able to swap from pump gas to e85 on road trips without having to have the laptop with me to change anything

I'm not sure exactly how your setup works with it being DSMlink (since it piggybacks, and i'm not sure what versions run what cables, i know the older ones had rs-232 cables because i tuned on a few of them)

but i've seen the static issue with a lot of different brands of ECU's from motec, to autronic and haltech (never seen an AEM do it but i've seen them have a hundred issues of their own in the begining when they were refining them)

My setup is using usb rs-232 and db9 cable, works all the time.... Do you know if maf-t can get static? Because i put the maf-t under my armrest box, maybe somwhow i touch the board since it is always open for the aux adjustment.... Tomorrow morning im going to take out the ecu and take a look to see what's wrong. Thanks for the input glenn

The only thing that can effect the communication with link is the laptop, the cable and the comm chip and port that go to link. The MAFT will have no effect on you being able to connect to DSMlink. YOu may want to call the people at ECMlink/DSMlink and ask if they've had an issue with this before and if there's anyway you can test the systems comm chip. AS for the stand alones i've mentioned, tyhe only way to trouble shoot them was to do a loopback test on the serial port on the laptop, ensure the cable was in good shape with no shorts and if those were good and you couldnt' connect you sent the ECU in to get a new COMM chip put in it (they commonly refer to it and spell it as "COMMS" chip, but it's actually the Rs-232 chip when looking them up to buy new ones through digikey or elsewhere)

Update.... i took out the ECU, everything seems fine no burnt or blown capacitors....

still i cannot connect to DSMlink........ the car starts fine but missfire alot...

so, problems are
