Can I use my oil and coolant lines from the TDO4 that are on my car now on the TDO5H? The person that removed the TDO5H from the car that it was in pinched and bent some of the lines during removal.I'm guessing that both turbo's are 1 in the same except for the compressor wheel within the unit.I was also told it had no cracks but it does have 2 "hairline" crack's 1 approaching the waste gate and the other on the exact other side of the waste gate. Are these going to be anyting to worry about? Other than the down pipe gasket and the exhaust manifold gasket do I have to buy any other gaskets or materials ( high temp silicone or a sheet of gasket material to make gaskets for the lines)before I start this swap out? Any help on this matter would be appreciated greatly. You all have been very helpful to me so far and I'd like to thank you all.

I would not reccommend using the old oil line, they may not be the same size. And you need to understand that the difference between the td04 and td05 is much more than just a compressor wheel. They are 2 totally different turbos. Plus which tdo4 is it? a 13g? Is this an automatic car? cause if it is, the injectors may not be enoght for the 14b, DEFINATLY not a 16g what ever td05 your installing???. And if you have cracks on ANYTHING thats bad. Cracks=leaks. Leaks=no power. Put some jb weld or something on that $hit. you dont want to run a cracked turbo.

Yes the car is an automatic with a 13G.As far a the boost goes I'll slap a boost controller on it intill I upgrade the fuel system. THe JB weld is a good idea I'll do my best on getting it on those 2 cracks.Anything else you can tell me?

I would'nt recommend putting JB weld on those cracks. It will not withstand the constant heat nor will it make the flow pattern very smooth at all. As for the cracks there is really nothing you can do. Just about every single 14B/1G manifold will start cracking sometime in its life no matter what you do to it. A tiny little crack near the wastegate will affect performance but not by to much as long as it doesnt go all the way through the whole turbo. If your not planning to keep this turbo till its death than I wouldnt worry about it at all. The last 14B I got rid of had a crack around the wastegate flapper as well, it slowed down spool up a little and thats about it, I still ran a 13.0@106 at only 16psi

The 13G and 14B are very similar and everything install wise is pretty muh the same (all lines...etc) Which lines are bent up and crushed? The only one that Id be a little worried about is the oil feed line...other than that the other 3 can be a little bent/dinged and they should be just fine. Some poeple are anal and want all new crap, some dont care like me cause of the cost of all the crap. But you should definetly upgrade fuel pump (190lph) and try and get some 450cc injectors at the leist (like 100$ for both).

The things that I would get no matter what in your case...
-new turbo to manifold gasket
-new turbine housing to o2 housing gasket
-can use the old comp. outlet just use a little silicone sealant or something if you don't want to buy a new one
-new crush washers for oil feed, coolant feed/return
-some bits to port the manifold and turbine inlet/wastegate passage with and to match the gaskets
-maybe a new exhaust manifold to head gasket as well, if not already I recommend the 4 layer from www.roadraceengineering.com as it will make up for most imperfections in the sealing surface and is pretty much reusable as its so thick
-new oil return gaskets (one from turbo and one to oil pan)

Thats about all I can think of right now. Good luck! :thumb:

The oil line is the worst one, and I'm not going for engine bay looks either "if the part will do it's job then good enough for me"is what I say.I need to know what to do about my exhaust manifold,I looked at it today and indeed it is cracked in 2 places. Can someone tell me what the difference between a manual and an automatic exhaust manifold is?I thought they where the same on both cars.If I put in the TDO5H should I put in the manual transmission exhaust manifold as well?or stick with the automatic exhaust manifold?Sorry I'm just trying to get all this straightened out before I start this procedure.By the way these exhaust manifolds are not 2G's manifolds but they are OEM standard after market manifolds that are crack resistant and guaranteed for 1 year. Thanks Austin :)
