Suggestion on a muffler????

If you are worried about the police stay with something dual tip , i have a n1 and with the 4-5 inch tip the cops just see that and they give me a ticket for an illegal exhaust..

On a side note i remember an old issue of modified mag and this guy had a full 3" exhaust but kept the factory muffler (2g) for stock looks. How does he make the stock muffler fit??. hehe the cops would never bother me then. :sneaky:

I have an apex n1 3" in and out. It sounds incredible and deep. I have a custom 3"ss turbo to tip so I could have the muffler somewhat tucked so that it does not protrude. If you are worried about apperance to the cops this is a good solution.

Polished mufflers are not a big deal around central, NY.
Heck we have guys with lowered cars, aftermarket wheels designed to attract attention with wider rubber. Speeding ans other stupid driving will start the ticket writing most often. Just drive smart. Not too difficult to get a 3" system quiet enough. Sound more than looks will get the man's attention.

well since this is an exhaust thread now maybe someone can answer my question:

what is the overall quality of megan racing mufflers? I've heard a few good things about them here and there and they're always really cheap on ebay. And what do they sound like at WOT/idle?

My buddy grabbed one off Ebay for a $100 and tossed it on his old beater for shit and giggles.
Sounded pretty good for the car it was on (94 crapalier), nice and deep.

I've actually got it now since he got rid of the car. The welds and overall exterior quality of the can is pretty damned good imo. I'm willing to part with it too.

I put a magnaflow on my car last night which I got for free from my parts car, I just had a canadian tire one on there before totally cheapo. Anyways with the magnaflow my car is about 1/2 as loud as it was and the muffler has the weirdest sound. Its got like an exhaust sound under low throttle but when I go to WOT at 15 psi or 20 psi it sounds like just air. Like a huge woosh sound from the back of my car no exhaust bark at all. Im not really diggin it and will swap it out in a couple weeks when I built the 3"

what about if u wana go for a quiet setup? i still wana have a 3inch setup but want it to be a sleeper quiet

LOL! Man, have you been reading and looking at ALL the posts? C'mon, thers at least 5 links to mufflers OTHER THAN Magnaflow.... Edelbrock 5525, thats what I suggested. I posted a link for a pic of one. It is just a 3"in/out, nothing flashy about it, sounds really good, and is MAD MAD sleeper. I have one painted flat black, people dont even know there's a mufler there. It tucks up under the bumper really well too.

get borla!!!!!!!!! it has the million mile waranty and doesnt void the warant on your car if you still have it. you are probably thinking they only make cat backs and exhast systems but they also make mufflers now for imports.
