I have a 5-speed 2g eclipse gs. I just got it and it's stock besides hks drager exhaust (not that this will make it any faster than the tinted windows) but i was wondering what stock cars I could smoke??? Assuming I can drive well, it has good acceleration, but it's no powerhouse. Please help so I know what and what not to mess with

These days it's hard to tell. You can't tell what people have in their cars these days. Not trying to joke you or anything but only things you can probably beat for sure is kia's, hyundai's (-the Tyburon) basically stuff that doesn't have good aftermarket support. Get you a TurboKit and then you won't have to worry as much.

I know what ur saying but I have spanked an older jetta, civic, prelude, & accord no problem and it's funny b/c im a girl. I don't want to take my non-aspired car to the track, racing between lights etc. is more fun. Maybe I should just go make an ass of myself and let the entire class of geo metros and look alikes beat me then come back w/12g ballbering turbo and smoke them all aswell as some respectable cars. As of right now, my car looks fast, people don't understand that it's not, stop trying to race me and my 2.0 L 140 hp engine!!!

I don't like the track. It's not like I run over pedestrians and run red lights. You can't go that fast inbetween lights anyway, and I'm not stupid enough to do it when there's a lot of pple around. Besides, I live in bumble#### you should see the roads out here.

Number one...what does your gender have to do with how well you race?

Number two....your lack of responsibility and care-free attitude could kill you or more importantly someone else. No one goes out street racing thinking they're going to wreck or cause a wreck and I always hear the same thing..."I never thought it would happen to me." I can see a quick race here or there...but if you're serious about racing, the smartest thing to do is keep it at the track where it is a more controlled enviroment.

It took me $250 to tell me to keep it on the track. $15 near me for all day @ the near by track, get there around noon and there'z about 8 carz.. no line and its completely LEGAL. Be safe, be smart.

I live in Wisconsin and the roads suck, potholes The snow damages the roads and you can't predict where the next hole will be, hope those tires are in good condition.

I think your all taking this a little to far. I don't go out to race, I race my friends etc occasionally. I've never gotten a speeding ticket b/c it's not worth it and for the insurance, and I am NOT a wreckless driver. Lighten up I'm not immature and carefree, I know bad things happen to good people.

ok... ya, take it to track.... but everyone goes through the street racing phase and if you do it now, im guess a bunch of people on in internet forum explaining why you shouldnt isnt gonna stop you. youll understand why eventualy, just try not to kill anyone before that. anyway, you want to know what cars you can beat? that only comes with experence. dont be afraid to race someone, especialy if your not racing for $$.. if you lose, you lose, no biggie. youll get the idea eventualy when you roll up what you can take and what you cant. just remeber though, looks can be deciving.. whats next to you could be a 400hp sleeper... or a cop........

well its the way you came off..not what we are preaching..oh and you REALLY cant tell what you can or cant beat anymore until youve tried..i have a 12 second gsx and i still dont trust every car i think i can beat..but in your case its probaly alittle more predictable because your naturaly aspirated..oh and for everyone preaching about the track,thats not the safest place in the world either,but def a lot more safer than the streets..

Look I had a rsx before the eclipse. I co-owned it w/a boyfriend, bad idea. I went through my street racing fling with that and still wasn't too stupid about it b/c i feared for my life if i ever took out the side mirror or made a ding. I co-owned it w/a boyfriend, bad idea. i used to street race almost every night when my car was fast im not going to say its good or bad, but i will suggest nitrous or turbo if you plan on kicking some ass. i drive a gs also, and lets face it they suck stock. spend 600 bucks, put a 50 shot on it, and go civic hunting then. just dont spray on the street . with juice or boost you should do just fine on the track

Listen up sweets. Heed the words of those guys. True enough, the track is legal and right 100% but, I know how u might feel being a girl at a track by yourself. One the public roads..last thing you want is some dog or someone to dart out in front, you swerve...you in wheelchair...FOREVER. Just last friday some 16 year old kid lost his life here street racing. He was coming from seeing 2F2F and lost it in his dads vette near a gas station. I can't tell you not to do it because hey, I'm no angel on the streets. But I can tell you that its a lot safer and legally better at the track. Here in FL, they fine you $1000 automatic for racing alone, car gets towed, the have a $1000 fine for any car towed from an arrest, and not to mention court fees,lawyer fees, liscense fees,jail, tow yard fees...it goes on and on. She knows...she's not stupid.
