Did the 1Ga Eclispe GSX only come with the ones in the pic, or did they come with some not so hubcap looking ones like on a 1Ga Talon?

Yeah, those are about the only ones. The 1G "a" GSX's only came with rims like that - and for 92 came with a similar style that had reversed fins, but essentially the same - with the center cap.

I believe 93 was the year GSXes started coming with the "brushed" angled five spoke wheels that eventually became an option on the 95-96 GS n/a's.

That's really the one beef about 1G GSX's.... their wheels aren't nearly as pretty as the Talons. ;) (Then again I'm biased, so take that as you will.)

Here's a shot of the "reversed" 1G GSX rims...
You can tell the style is similar, although theres a little more room for the brakes to show through and just slightly better to look at. I think there may have been a few 91s to come with these, but according to everything I've found, they're a '92 model year thing.

Here's a close shot of my '92 fan-style rims. I kinda like them. Oh well, I lost 1 center cap so I purchased some 97+ 5 spokes. It was time to get new tires anyway :) I hope to have them on soon and I'll take some pics.

i have a 91 talon and my rims look nothing like either of those pictures. mine are 5spoke kind of angled with a gray type of paint over it. i found this picture of dmoneys rims and those are what mine look like.

Yes, but the only reason they are the same is because the cars are facing opposite directions. Argh, I'll put a better pic of my car. There... now which car has the rims facing the wrong way?

Sigh. Just because the cars are facing the opposite directions means nothing. Rims always face the same direction no matter which way you're looking at it. You can't put rims on backwards... As for your pic, you're just a freak ;)

do you honestly not see the "opposite-ness" of the rims Hokie?

i'm not tryin to bash you or ANYTHING like that, its a simple mistake.

they are the same rims, BUT the fins on the top one are like this \
and the bottom one is like this /

is that more understandable?

one person has their rims on backwards...i'm thinking its the red one, simply because my mom has rims similar to those on her car and the fins curve the same way

Sorry, you can put "directional" wheels AND tires on backwards. That is why we bother to distinguish "directional" from regular wheels. And the above shots are of "directional" wheels. Quit with the know-it-all attitude, it doesn't suit you.;)

No, I do see it. I think he reversed his pic to try to make his point true. The two pics he was bitching about are THE SAME.

For convinience, I've cropped the pics for clarity. Here's the first pic, from the RED car:

and the 2nd pic, from the white car:

They're the same.

That final pic, look at his pic - he reversed it. You can clearly see the exhaust, but if it's a 1G, the exhaust would be on the PASSENGER side, as is shown in his first picture, not on the driver's side, as shown in the last picture. He faked it. Period.

As for the wheels - you can't turn wheels inside out to make the pattern reversed. I'd like to see you try that. The wheel fits over the brakes, with the wheel extending past the brakes. Go take your wheels off and look at them, you can't put them on backwards. If you could, they'd stick out and look REAL funny.

I think I've made my point.

Not inside out, take the wheels from the drivers side and bolt them onto the passenger side. They become "backwards". Many folks do this with their tires, they don't turn the tread inside-out.

No, they don't. You can take the rims/wheels from one side and put them on the other, and they'll look exactly the same, just the car will be reversed... It's called freaking rotating your tires folks. not like in these pictures, which I'll guess you already realized were doctored to prove the point.

LOL!!! Put rims on backwards? HAHA! Man, you guys crack me up. And Hokie is making sence to me...so...yeah.

Trust me here and try it. I have an idea. Take the spare in yer trunk, place it next to the front tire on yer car (driver of passenger, doesn't matter). With chalk, draw an arrow pointing to the front of the car on the spare. Now pick the spare up and put it on the opposite side, once again with the arrow pointing out. Which way is the arrow pointing?
