that flex coupler is ill placed. couple should always be placed in the middle of two roll stops, thats where flex angles are at minimum. the local seen in picture would require something like twice the flex angle. seems like awfully short coupler for that

No bov? Or just not installed yet?

Side note - do you still have the upper intercooler pipe from the previous build? I may be interested in it

Exhaust flex decouplers are not employed primarily for isolation from powertrain movement, they're actually mostly critical in absorbing the constant fluctuation of pipe length as the exhaust heats up and cools down.

Flex couplers on main exhaust systems (not to be confused with egr tubes and up pipes) are used for powertrain movement relative to the chassis. This is why you see different length sections based on the projected usage of the vehicle. Flex sections on an egr tube or up pipe are used for thermal growth, but you have to remember that both ends of those components are ridged mounted to the engine.

My issue with the one pictured is not so much the placement (though I agree with the previous poster) but really the overall size of it. The over braid couplers really restrict movement which then places a ton of stress on things like the turbo and the header as the engine rocks and pulls on the entire exhaust.

Thanks for supporting our community! You guys do great work

For all you complaining about the flex pipe. Request a different or longer one if you are paranoid. They may be a pain in the ass to weld but they are easily changed out for a different size prior to weldup. they are made in house at STM so im sure its not a problem unlike the set in stone models that are made over seas.

I've ordered one of the O2 housings with the Tial wastegate. Can't wait to see it! Thanks for continuing to cater to the community!
