does anyone know if its illegal to remove the stock steering wheel and replace it with an aftermarket - non-equipped steering wheel?

thanks

if you get a ticket for not having an airbag, ill pay it.

It's a foggy area, from what I've been able to find out. Seems it's illegal to _sell_ an airbag-equipped vehicle without functioning airbags, and it also seems it's illegal to pull them and get paid for it. But doing it on your own car, for your own purposes doesn't seem to be covered. However, the trouble would be if someone else drove your car, stuffed it, and didn't get slammed in the face in the bargain. Injuries could be on your ass, depending on their lawyer.
