I have a problem starting my car up. Usually if its been sitting for more than a couple of hours its fine. But if i shut down and come back soon it wont start. If i pull the MPI fuse i can crank it enough to get it to start, sometimes 10-30 seconds of cranking is required
Then when it starts an enormous cloud of black smoke envelopes my car. In order to start it I have to keep it floored and then pulse it till the engine clears up. It will stall if I don't and runs very rough for a 10-20 seconds after the cloud clears. The cloud is just like a burst not a constant or once running. My first guess would be an oil leak possible from the valves and not the rings cause its seems to leak after shut down. My compression also checks out good and even across the board 140-150 on all cylinders. Any suggestion on what it is and would an oil leak cause a starting problem??? If it is my valves how would i go about checking that? A rebuild will cost 300-400 bucks so I'd like to be sure about it being the problem.
