Thanks!

A dsm project must meet 2 of 3 criteria
1. Fully intact interior not missing pieces
2. Intact engine bay with no missing pieces
3. Free of major external damage

The car was really an unknown when I bought it. Massive electrical issues, barely running, and exhaust leaks causing god awful noises. Interior pieces installed incorrectly, and overspray on windows

Cleaned up great though

Amazon had one listed for $62 and had to wait about 2 weeks to get it, but cheap is cheap. Im not a fan of fat aluminum radiators with a front mount with ac

I had a friend with a go fast bits blow off valve, I really loved the crisp and immediate pressure relief it had. Found one slightly used and made an offer and it was accepted. Fits 1g DSm flange or mazda speed 6

Also my stock manifold had a really big hairline crack and was causing slow boost times. Was able to get a dorman manifold on rock auto for $88

Seems to be good quality, no issues so far

Also at the same time I found an NRG steering wheel for $60, combined it with a fake nrg hub adapter. The hub adapter worked just fine, but the horn button wouldnt fit over the nut, so yeah had too get a quick release to space it out

And the latest issue, trying to jump start my camaro seems to shave blown my crappy rebuilt alternator. Going to have to swap it out tomorrow, so also decided to polish the intercooler while I have the alternator out and intercooler in my face

Awesome work as usual. Glad someone out here trying to preserve our cars with simple tasteful mods. I think we all can say we’ve jumped out went power hungry over the years sacrificing the cars. Again keep it up, awesome work

I love the fleet. Very nice! And the way that BOV fits the flange looks nice. I’ve never read about the Mazda speed being the same. Do you know the part number for it?
For sure man, I had never heard of it either, but it is extremely responsive to boost pressure even with minimal revs I can hear it release. On my friends setup with a hybrid 16g it held 25psi no problem. It is a direct bolt on to a 1g dsm blow off valve, will not fit a greddy flange without an adapter. On GFB's official website it says fits 90-94 dsm and mazdaspeed6

Having installed it, makes me think I need to T the boost line for the real greddy in my 96 to use the low pressure nipple on the bottom of the greddy housing

I think I have 3 fake greddy purple blow off valves now and 1 real one. The real ones are going for stupid expensive money on ebay, last real one i saw in like new condition went for close to $300. Theres no way im going to pay that, or $200 for the real fake ones

I've sacrificed a few that were beyond what I considered worth saving. This blue gst was a gamble, it had all sorts of electrical issues and mechanical issues, and exhaust leaks that sounded like engine problems.

At what I bought it for, I wasnt sure what I was getting into. It had big injectors and some sort of tune, and thats why I turned it back to a stock setup. Gotta make sure mechanical issues are not from aftermarket parts

But so far so good. I have not had a chance to test the 14b turbo and i need a boost gauge to check what its doing. I have a fake aem wideband I still need to toss in eventually as well. Have a tactrix cable and may eventually see if I can figure out the basics of tuning

So the flange for the blow off valve has some really warped edges and wouldnt seal to the black blow off valve, so i had to butter both sides of a typ-s style gasket after filing the bov flange to make it seal and build boost

Any-hoos

So got tired of the road noise from the rear and decided to insulate the trunk and clean it up

Car has been great, had to pass state inspection but couldnt get the readiness monitors to set. Drove for months still showed emissions not ready. Had to download ecu flash and ceddy mods to change monitor status to not available, and the car passed its final emissions inspection

AC has been working great, car in general is everything I have wanted from it

Had a set back the other day, hard shift from first into second and it felt like i broke the shifter. Gears 2-4-R had an extremely long sloppy pull, upon investigating had to find the shift cable was internally busted

Screenshot_20230530-214526.png

On ebay cables are listed at $300 for a set, was able to hop on craigslist and find a listing for pick and pull with a manual transmission non turbo spider. Called and confirmed the transmission was still in the car so loaded up and made the trip an hour away. Was able to find the shifter cables for $3, but loaded up on parts for converting my 96 gst to a 99
