hey guys.. first off.. i have a 95 gsx.. with 66 original miles.. act2600 with stock lightened flywheel.. ive noticed that when the clutch is depressed i hear some chattering coming from the tranny/clutch.. when i have the clutch pressed.. everything sounds fine.. now the noise is not that loud.. but its noticible by the trained(most) ears.. what could this be? and is it serious? the car runs fine however.. but i dont want this to be a start of something worse..

thanks in advance for inputs/thoughts/help..

TTT.. yea.. ive been told that it might/probably be some bearing (throw out bearing)..

well i was just checking the problem again.. like i said.. if i dont press the clutch.. i can hear the noise.. but wen its pressed it goes away.. now if i slowly release the clutch after.. it's not as loud. but if i let go of it quickly the noise seems a tad bit louder.. and im doing this in neutral..

i have the release bearing chatter only when i push the clutch in but i used to have it all the time im not to sure how much it cost for a realease bearing but to get in there u will have to drop the tranny and other stuff so it probaly would be expensive unless u do it yourself im just going to wait until i get a act 2100 then do it

Mine does that too and I also have a ACT2600 installed for about 19k miles. Never knew exactly why. Hope someone can explain.

It is an Aftermarket TO Bearing and is Noisey, the Mutsu one isn't, other then that there is no porblem and do not worry about it.

hey guys.. just wanted to add some of the responses from my local dsm group.. maybe it will help others out who are having this problem:

Quite possibly youre throw-out bearing is/has gone bad. Im having the same
problem/noise right now too. Unfortunately it takes a clutch job basically to
replace it. Did you use the factory Throw out bearing? Its highly recommened
you replace it with a new factory one whenever you change the clutch.

Make sure its the plastic sleeved one.

I can hear my throwout bearing a block away because its the metal sleeved
one and its going south.
