I am going to be getting a new e316g turbo within the next week but i am trying to decide what i want to do about my manifold. I want to do something to help spool time. I plan on having my new turbo ported as well as buying an evo 3 o2 housing. I have been thinking about porting my 2g manifold (stage 2), buying an evo 3 manifold, or getting the new SBR manifold. Which has the most flow?
(porting done by slowboyracing)
ported stage 2 2g manigold
evo 3 manifold
sbr manifold

Porting:

Get the SBR manifold, and have them port it and tap the thing for an EGT probe. At least get the EGT if not the porting.

I got the SBR mani fully ported, the things hogged out. Haven't seen it in person yet (i'm back in college right now) but I've talked to other guys in the area that have, and they all have said it's impressive. :thumb:

The sbr manifold is 7cm without porting but i can have my 2g manifold fully ported for only a 100 bucks.... if i get an sbr manifold and have it ported, wont i have to get a bigger gasket and port other things to take advantage of the port job?

Slowboy one definitley...But the EVos are not bad ethier where you wouldnt even notice a difference in power bewteen the two..If you wanna save a lil money get the EVO. But if you just want the top of the line one its the SBR Manifold. DNP also makes a bad ass tubular manifold but it is just sooo expensive its like 500 bucks! But it sure does look sweet and I hear it flows just as much as the SBR if not more.

great. i think ill just go ahead and buy the sbr manifold and have my 2g o2 housing ported... or should i just go with an evo o2 housing?

If i am not mistaken I have heard that the evo o2 housing comes out at a different angle so some downpipes will not work with it. I think some downpipes will fit if the flex section will allow you to turn it enough to fit.

That's pretty interesting. I'd like to know that one myself. I was planning on doing ALL my exhaust (from the head back) at one time, and that could definitely put a damper on things.

We will always tap for free, just let us know when you order!

Our manifold also comes with a port matched 7cm gasket with each order, just an FYI.

The evo3 o2 housing does come out at a slight angle, so most downpipes WILL need to be modified to fit it. However, the great guys over at RRE make downpipes just for us guys with the evo3 o2 housings that dont have to be modified! They are like $230, but money well spent, IMO :)

Hell, given that information it seems like a better deal to get an O2 eliminator downpipe instead of an EVO O2 housing and having to modify 'most' of the available downpipes to fit it.

Soon, there will be another choice....

Maybe a cast o2 housing that has the correct angle that is as big as an EVO III o2 housing? Only time will tell....
