My car is lowered 1.75 in. I bought it with the lowering springs and hate it. Anyways i got a set of 16in. rims off a supra. what would be a decent tire size to run. I need some snow tires and some better suspension. im looking on craigslist cause my funds are slim.

Car lowered 1.75in. I got 16in. rims What sizes will work ?? im tryin to get some tonight tomorrow off craigslist.

im running 16x 8.5 with 225 45 16

with no problem... using a 5/16 inch spacer

I think offset and width might be the determing factors of that.

I ran 16x8 3000GT wheels with 225/55/16" all seasons, and they'd rub in the front at full lock, and the rear subframe had to be ground down to prevent rubbing.

I just picked up some 215/55/16" Blizzacks and mounted them on some 1g wheels and they might be rubbing at full lock, I'm not sure, but they work oh so lovely.

No rubbing, they will be fine. Especially if you use te narrower tires. They will tuck up in the fender wells better than wide ones. 215/50/16 should be okay too. Those are common sizes for the GS and GS-T with 16" wheels. I had a 2" lowering kit and mine didn't rub even when turning hard.

Hey im looking to pick up some snow tire for a set of 15in rims I got to run in the winter months. My question is what size tire should I get? Currently I have 205/55zr16 on my '90 gsx. I was thinking about 205/60r15 general altimax artic.

It depends on what stance you side with. The "get the skinniest winter tire possible" stance thinking that a skinny tire will cut through the snow more or "get the widest tire possible" stance thinking that more contact area means better traction.
If you don't care about that crap, then the the tire size you selected will be fine.

I ran a 215/50/17 for the last two winters. Those worked fine in Erie, PA - 145" of snow last year. Those were all-season tires. (Continental ContiExtreme Contacts)

This year, I'm getting 215/55/16 winter tires on some steelies. Then I'll put some summer tires on the stock 17s once the weather clears up. I'm done dealing with sub-par summer performance from all-seasons.

I have 205/ 55R 16 winter tires on my 90 TSi. I don't see any reason you would have to go down to a 15" tire

My friend ran blizzaks on his stock rims stock size tires and it was fine. my car was fine with sport tires that sucked in the rain. It was fine as long as I didn't need to stop or turn LOL.

Glad to be in bama now no more snow.
